REVIEW: KERANIQUE VOLUMIZING SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER

100_1386100_1404
A while ago I reviewed a product by Keranique, their Volumizing Lifting Spray for Hair (http://iamthemakeupjunkie.blogspot.com/2012/03/review-keranique-volumizing-lifting.html). I really liked the product. Recently I received the Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner for Thinning Hair. Before I get any farther in this review I have to say one thing: WOW!. My hair has never been so full of body before. I actually had to add some product to my hair to decrease some of the volume, it was so overwhelming.
Hair loss is often thought of as being a male condition, but women make up 40% of hair loss sufferers. Women usually use different techniques to try and hide their condition: blow drying hair upside down, using large curlers and using chemicals to thicken hair. Keranique’s approach to thinning hair is to prevent the root cause of hair loss and to treat the hair itself. Each product is augmented with amino acids, proteins and keratin to help strengthen and fortify thinning hair. There are also vegetable extracted humectants that hydrate, nourish and help stimulate micro-circulation at the hair follicles themselves.
The Keranique solution for volume and thinning hair is as follows:
1: Cleanse hair with the Volumizing Shampoo. The shampoo cleanses deeply, enlivens and nourishes the scalp and follicles. It removes oil and build up that makes hair look dragged down. The shampoo is free of parabens, sulfates and synthetic frangrances. It has a pleasant minty fragrance.
2: The Volumizing Conditioner coats each strand to make it thicker. It also protects fine hair with an exclusive cream-gel formula that doesn’t weigh hair down but adds body instead. The conditioner also hydrates hair and activates micro-circulation with each hair follicle that helps nourish the hair. Finally, the conditioner helps to mend split ends, decrease hair breakage and smooth the cuticles.
If you look at the photo of me above, you will notice how “lofty” my hair is. The only thing I did not do is add the root lifting spray, which I usually do and has become one of my staple products now! I must say, I am very happy with the Keranique products. Why? Because they do what they say they are going to do. The shampoo and conditioner did indeed add a lot of volume to my hair. Now, I will admit that my hair is cut into layers and does naturally get a lot of body if the right product is added. However, here I just used shampoo and conditioner. I don’t mind spending money on products that work. Since this line doesn’t have parabens or sulfates, and I am getting a lot of volume, I am EXTREMELY happy. The Keranique Volumizing Shampoo ($35) and Volumizing Conditioner ($35) come in 9 oz. bottles and are available at www.keranique.com.
