Review: Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil

DSC08122
Indie Lee is the survivor of a rare and almost fatal brain tumor. After her surgery she decided that she needed to change what went into her body and onto her skin. She suspected that environmental toxins were responsible for the tumor and she became dedicated to making a line of skincare that was pure and natural. Founded on the idea that women can have access to a luxurious, all-natural alternative to the artificially chemically laden skincare that is everywhere now, Indie Lee introduced a line formulated for the growing demand of health-conscious consumers who long for toxin-free and effective skincare products. The line is made with the best natural ingredients and is comprised of six cross functional collections that each provide a natural alternative to common skin concerns.

Squalane oil is one of the better treatment products because it treats various skin conditions such as dry skin, acne, and rosacea. Squalane is a fatty substance and is normally produced in the sebaceous gland. It is found in human sebum. It provides hydration to the skin and is an anti-oxidant. In the past skincare companies produced it from shark livers but now it is produced from olives. Because it is found in human sebum it is one of the only treatment products that will actually penetrate the skin. Squalane stimulates new cell growth, helps age spots, it fights free radicals, it reduces wrinkles and softens the skin. It has also been shown to help those with eczema and psoriasis. Recent studies have shown that it might help fight cancer and shrink tumors. The olive oil derived squalane helps keep with skin’s elasticity and helps skin’s cell regeneration and oxygenation.
Apply a few drops daily (I have been using it at night, after cleansing) and massage into the skin. It is not supposed to leave any residue and I have noticed that is true, as long as any other moisturizer is not used. If you have very dry skin, then I would recommend another moisturizer. The squalane sinks into the skin. It leaves it very soft and supple. Since it is already a component of human sebum it would work well for those with acne. If you have rosacea the squalane would help to work as an anti-inflammatory. Even if you skin is very oily, this oil is perfectly okay and will not cause extra oiliness.
I like this oil very much and think it will work for just about any skin type/concern. Indie Lee is available at www.indielee.com. Squalane Facial Oil comes in a 1oz bottle for $32.00.

  1. I don't understand, you say it works with any skin type, and then you say you wouldn't recommend it for dry skin. Would you mind clarifying?

    1. I'm sorry, that was a misunderstanding. I said that I would recommended another moisturizer and I should have said in addition to the squalane oil. The oil is great but for dry skin it isn't enough of a moisturizer. I hope this clarifies things.
