Review: Make Up For Ever High Definition Foundation

DSC09758

I consider myself somewhat of a foundation maniac. I suppose it is because it is hard to find the right color for my pale skin tone, but I have over 100 foundations. The Make Up For Ever High Definition Foundation has been a troublesome one because I have had to try three different colors to get the right match for my skin tone. However finally, I found the right one!

Make Up For Ever (MUFE) has designed the HD range of products for the new needs of high definition television and movies, so that it provides a natural finish on the skin. It is supposed to provide flawless coverage. The MUFE brand is in high demand for television and movies because their products are of the highest quality.

This foundation costs $42.00. It is expensive and I am expecting a lot from this product. The first color I tried was Marble 117 (for light skin with yellow undertones). It was definitely too dark and too yellow for me. Then I tried 115 Ivory (for light skin with pink undertones). Again, it was too dark for me!!!! Finally I settled on 110 Pink Porcelain (for porcelain skin with pink undertones). Usually with foundations I am very neutral, and this one looks neutral to me, not pink. It is a perfect match in tone, which is good. If you look at the swatch you can see it is almost a perfect match for the inner forearm too! I could probably wear 115 or 117 in the summer.

I applied the foundation with my Beautyblender sponge. You only need a small amount. I use a tiny bit on the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin then blend. It covers very well. I had a little bit of redness and it covered that perfectly. I don’t have the HD powder right now but I want to try that too. I can imagine that those two would work perfectly together. The foundation went on very smoothly and there wasn’t any shine to it, it had more of a slight matte finish. I did apply powder afterwards (MAC Invisible) and my face looked great!

After wearing the High Definition Foundation all day I can say that I didn’t have any breakthrough oil in the T-Zone or any spreading out of the foundation that might happen with inferior products. It wore very well and looked like I had just put it on and was fresh after 8 hours of wear. I can say that I would highly recommend this foundation for anyone. I have combination skin. If you have oily skin I would say that you might have to apply powder in the middle of the day. If you have dry skin it will work for you.

The above photos show me wearing the MUFE 110 HD Foundation, 110 Pink Porcelain. As you can see, my skin looks pretty good. I am very happy with this product and I am going to have to bring it into my top five foundations. Make Up For Ever High Definition Foundation is available through Sephora stores and www.sephora.com. Is anyone else a MUFE HD Foundation fan too?
