The regenerative properties of alguronic acid was discovered while scientists were working on renewable energy solutions in a laboratory in San Francisco. It was definitely an unexpected bonus. They took this and ran with it, creating the remarkable line that is now called Algenist.
Targeted Age Correcting Serum is a lightweight serum that targets the appearance of dark spots while resurfacing the skin. It is a concentrated serum for aging concerns. It contains the Algenist main ingredient, alguronic acid, which comes from microalgae.
Alguronic acid decreases melanin production in the skin, thus evening skin tone. This serum also contains Vitamin C and oligopeptide to diminish the appearance of dark spots and age spots. Bear berry and licorice extract decrease melanin production to even skin tone. The serum also contains salicylic acid to refine skin texture and Vitamin E as an anti-oxidant. Skin texture is refined and a new level of skin clarity is revealed. In comparison testing, alguronic acid outperformed other well-known active anti-aging ingredients, demonstrating superior anti-aging benefits. In vitro testing with alguronic acid showed the following: a 55% increase in cellular regeneration, a 32% increase in elastin synthesis, and a 26% decrease in melanin production. These results were obtained using the serum twice a day in a self-assessment of 100 women. Within 10 days of use, skin is revived in 91% of subjects and in 97% of subjects skin is softer and smoother. Within 4 weeks of use radiance is boosted in 92% of subjects. In 90% of subjects, younger looking skin is reported.
This serum sinks right into skin. I found that it does help skin look brighter and more even toned. I am so happy with all of the Algenist products that I have used lately. Every single one of them are amazing. This serum especially, is a great product. I have a lot of sun damage. This serum is one of the best I have used. It actually works better than any other I have used to get rid of sun damage and to even out skin tone.
