Dr. Harold Lancer, a Beverly Hills based dermatologist, has developed a less is more approach with his 3-step method of skincare. This method is simple: exfoliate, cleanse and nourish the skin. THE METHOD delivers visible and dramatic improvements in skin tone, texture and appearance, often within a few days.
LANCER THE METHOD: POLISH SENSITIVE SKIN 4.2 fl.oz./120 g $75.00
In the LANCER method of skin cleansing, the first step is to polish the skin. So, using this gentle but effective THE METHOD POLISH SENSITIVE SKIN, it takes skin resurfacing to a new level. It is a gentle but extremely effective product. This contains pure minerals and it warms up to remove dull, dead surface skin cells to increase oxygen levels throughout the skin to prepare it for the treatments to come. Natural cell turnover is increased and the underlying skin cells are signaled to help produce fresher, younger-looking skin.
At first I was pretty reticent to try out exfoliation prior to cleansing. I thought that seemed to be the complete opposite of what you need to do during the cleansing process. But, it works just fine. Even when you have makeup on. You can take off makeup with the regular cleanser, come back and do this step and then cleanse or you can do this step with makeup on. Either way, skin cells are turned over and skin ends up coming about looking and feeling fresh, soft and pretty pink because of the increase in oxygen with the new blood flow to the skin.

The next step in the cleansing process is the cleanser. THE METHOD CLEANSE SENSITIVE SKIN cleanser is a great cleanser. It is a lightly foaming cleanser that is gentle, fragrance-free and is enriched with oat and licorice phytocompounds to help fight off redness and soothe irritation. This cleanser removes daily impurities and prepares skin to receive further treatments, such as serums, creams, etc.
I did not think that this would end up becoming one of my favorite cleansers of all time. I love that it is a lightly foaming cleanser that removes all makeup, dirt, debris and impurities. It makes skin feel so good after cleansing, not dry and irritated. Skin is cradled in softness and it is the perfect complement to THE METHOD POLISH. After using both of these products, your skin is ready to take on anything!
LANCER SHEER FLUID SUN SHIELD SPF 30 2 fl.oz./60 ml $52.00
During the daytime it is imperative that you wear at least an SPF of 30 or more for sun protection. SHEER FLUID SUN SHELD SPF 30 is a great product to handle this. The weightless fluid sunscreen protects from UV light while delivering complex anti-aging ingredients that help skin cells and enhance cellular function. This product is ideal as an makeup primer. It leaves a smooth, even finish without any greasy or heavy after feel. The sunscreens in this product is Octinoxate 7.5% and Zinc Oxide 17.1%. That is a mix of chemical and mineral sunscreens. It is good to have the zinc oxide as that helps to keep the UVA/UVB rays at bay. If you have an allergy to chemical sunscreens then you will not be able to use this product. Which is too bad as it is a killer product!
I really like this product underneath my makeup as a makeup primer. It does work well. It works great as a sunscreen too. This is a good all around sunscreen to have for wear any day and every day. It is important to wear sunscreen to keep wrinkles and skin cancer from closing in. At least a SPF of 30 daily will help keep skin looking younger.

At night skin needs a nurturing, nourishing treatment that will help to calm skin and deliver potent anti-aging solutions. THE METHOD: NOURISH SENSITIVE SKIN is that product. It has powerful calming agents and soothing emollients to help calm sensitive skin, improve hydration and protect against environmental aggressors. Skin is nourished and hydrated for a visibly renewed, youthful glow.
This cream is light and sinks right into skin, not leaving any greasy feeling. I love how well it moisturizes the skin and how it leaves it feeling nourished. It has many botanical extracts that calm skin, many oils to help hydrate the skin. Skin glows and feels great.
So, what can I say about THE METHOD? I like it. I definitely feel that there are some products that I still need, such as my retinol serum, but otherwise this is a nice method of skincare. It took me a little while to get used to the idea of exfoliating first, but it works out quite well. The exfoliation and cleansing portion does indeed produce results. Dr. Lancer does have some serums that are added into the mix prior to the NOURISH portion. Serums are a very important part of skincare in my book. I feel that they are one of the most important parts of the skincare process. I do like the moisturizer that I tried and the sunscreen was phenomenal. I love the cleanser too, it is one of my favorite products now (as is the Polish). The whole Sensitive line I tried was pretty amazing. I would recommend these products to anyone. And again, I tried out the sensitive products. They have products for oily skin, dry skin, etc. This line is one of the best I have ever tried.
