I love peels. I have been using them for years to help keep my skin clear, to ward off wrinkles and to brighten up my skin. Lately though, I have been using peels to brighten up my skin and get rid of hyperpigmentation that developed from years of being out in the sun when I was very, very young. When I was five years old I had sun poisoning from a day at the beach in Nags Head, North Carolina and it left me incredibly ill but with a lot of freckles on my face. I have a very pale complexion and I do not tan out in the sun but instead I burn almost immediately. As I got older I tried to stay out of the sun but when I went to Greece on my honeymoon, I got burned very badly again and my in-laws had to put Greek yogurt all over my body to help heal the burn. Yogurt has a lot of lactic acid in it and it really helps to heal sunburns. I was in bed for 2 days with a bad sunburn. I couldn't even wear a shirt.

When I was in my late thirties all of this sun damage started to manifest itself not only as freckles, but as photo aging. That is when it starts to look more like hyperpigmentation than regular freckles. If you are in your thirties or older, you know the difference: the pigmentation is darker and more pronounced than usual. It also starts to come out all over the face in force! Dark spots and discoloration appears more than just freckles. I posted about my recent travails about working on my hyperpigmentation the other day. Well, not only have I been using Vitamin C peels, I have also been using a product from philosophy that is one of the best peels I have ever used. It is called the microdelivery triple-acid brightening peel.

This is one of philosophy's best peels that they have ever come out with. It is a one-step peel that is used after cleansing skin and there is zero downtime. the microdelivery triple-acid brightening peel has a triple-acid formula that dissolves and gets rid of dull, dead skin cells and impurities to help reveal a brighter skin tone. Clarity of the skin appears improved and fine lines are diminished too. But the best thing about this peel is its brightening effects, it has a skin-brightening technology that visibly reduces hyperpigmentation such as dark spots and discoloration. Skin is revitalized, appears luminous and brighter.

To use: first cleanse skin then make sure it is completely dry. Apply pre-saturated peel pad to cleansed, dry skin on face, neck, and décolleté. Can also be applied to back of hands if desired. Let peel sit on skin for a few minutes to allow brightening and 'peeling' effects to occur. Tingling will likely occur on skin. Let sit at least 5-10 minutes before using moisturizer. If uncomfortable, apply a pad soaked with 1 tablespoon of baking soda to 1/2 cup of water and apply to skin to neutralize peel. Use once a week at most.

This product should only be used on the following skin types: dry, normal, combination, oily and acneic skins. If you have sensitive skin, DO NOT USE. It is a powerful peel and contains three alpha hydroxy acids: glycolic acid, mandelic acid and malic acid. Glycolic acid comes from sugar. Mandelic acid comes from grapes. Malic acid originates from apples. All of these are known as alpha hydroxy acids and are very strong.

I am extremely happy with this product. In two months I will be 47 and let's just say I am not happy with how I feel physically (because I am disabled and overweight) but my skin is looking really good lately. With the products I have been using, my hyperpigmentation is almost completely under control and I have soft, wrinkle free, acne free, young looking skin. If you take care of your skin you can look much younger than your age. Yes, genetics plays a part. But using sunscreen, peels and good skincare plays a part too. My favorite skincare item to use is a peel. And the microdelivery triple-acid brightening peel is one of my favorites because it is easy to use, works incredibly well and is not too strong that it overpowers the skin.

Here is how my skin is looking lately, after using the peel and other products:

  1. After you use marijuana, your blood carries THC metabolites to your hair. Trace amounts of it can be detected up to 90 days after usage. However, unlike blood tests, it can take up to a week for trace amounts of marijuana to show up in your hair. You should also be aware that, if you’re on prescription medication, some medications can produce a false positive for THC metabolites. So let the testers know which medications you’re on.
