Review: tarte shape tape waterproof body makeup #tartecosmetics #doubledutybeauty #shapetapebodymakeup

(product photo courtesy of www.tarte.com)

4.22 fl.oz./125mL $39.00

I have been a huge fan of tarte cosmetics through the years. I happen to have a large amount of their palettes and lip colors, as well as their brushes and other items. When I first received this item, I was quite taken aback. My first thought was waterproof body makeup. Hmmm....then I thought it sounded like a fabulous idea. Other iines have items like these, tarte should too. It was inspired by their cult classic shape tape concealer.

Do you have stretch marks? Cellulite? Age spots? shape tape waterproof body makeup can cover all of these. It is vegan, waterproof, sweatproof, transferproof, full coverage and has no shimmer. It also covers scars, bruises, discolorations, birthmarks and veins. The video below discusses shape tape waterproof body makeup and what it does. It comes in 9 shades: fair, light, medium, medium, medium-tan, tan, tan-deep, deep, rich. It delivers a smoothing, blurring texture. Scatters light to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Maracuja helps deliver firmer, brighter and smoother looking skin. Glycerin helps hydrate and restore skin's moisture balance. Vitamin E is a natural preservative that also acts as an emollient and antioxidant.

It's easy to use, just apply, let it dry, then fly!

TARTELETTE™ TESTED
Based on a consumer perception study:
  • 96% agree covers age spots & skin feels moisturized
  • 89% agree covers & smooths look of stretch marks
  • 85% agree covers & smooths look of cellulite

I like the fact that this is waterproof and covers up so many things. Like on my arms it covers up my freckles and smooths out my skin. I did get some pictures on my legs. See below the pictures on my legs. I was given the Light shade instead of Fair which would have been my perfect shade.

above: leg without any makeup

above: leg with makeup

above: legs together showing one wearing makeup compared to one not wearing makeup
As you can see. the makeup covers everything. It is a well built product that works great for arms, legs, decollete, stomach, buttocks, thighs, you name it. I don't know if it covers tattoos, I don't have any of them to cover. But it looks like it would. This is an amazing product at a great price point. I would purchase it in the fair shade, definitely.

shape tape waterproof body makeup retails for $39.00 and comes in a large tube. You can get a brush to put it on, the tone tool for $28.00. This can be purchased online on www.tartecosmetics.com and at www.qvc.com and on QVC. Like tarte on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/tarte-cosmetics/82403561928; Follow tarte on Twitter: @tartecosmetics; Follow tarte on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/tartecosmetics/; Follow tarte on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tartecosmetics/ and Subscribe to tarte on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/tartecosmetics.

(product photo courtesy of www.mychelle.com)

1 fl.oz./30mL $24.00
.52 oz./15mL $12.50

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. As someone who has had skin cancer, I can tell you that you need to make sure you taking the appropriate steps to avoid skin cancer. I have had two instances of it by the age of 48. Yes, I had a lot of sunburns when I was little but I never could tan. I never could stay out in the sun either. It is not something for me. My number on the Fitzpatrick skin cancer scale is a I which means I am highly likely to get skin cancer because I burn, have blonde hair and blue/green eyes. To avoid skin cancer at all times one needs to wear a SPF30 all year long, that's right I said all year long and that means on the face and body. One of my skin cancers was on the tip of my nose and the other was on the upper arm. It can happen anywhere.

This is a sheer tinted (light to medium) oil-free formula that has a 100% mineral broad-spectrum protection. It contains 16.1% zinc oxide that makes it a non-chemical sun protection, that doesn't absorb the sun's rays but reflects them. Blends weightlessly and seamlessly giving skin a fresh, healthy glow with a smooth, matte finish. Doesn't contain Retinyl Palmitate or chemical UV absorbers including Octinoxate, Octisalate, Oxybenzone or PABA. Also made without parabens, petroleum, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, ureas, artificial colors and fragrances. Great to wear instead of foundation. Apply to the face and rub in.

This mineral-based, water resistant sunscreen glides on smoothly and delivers powerful UVA and UVB broad-spectrum protection. Avocado, Jojoba and Vitamin E Oils moisturize and protect skin. Lightly tinted for a neutral finish. Has a 21.8% zinc oxide base for sunscreen. It is a mineral sunscreen that is great for those allergic to chemical sunscreens. Doesn't contain: Retinyl Palmitate or chemical UV absorbers including Octinoxate, Octisalate, Oxybenzone or PABA
Made without parabens, petroleum, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, ureas, and artificial colors and fragrances. Just apply to the face and rub in.
These sunscreens are great to use under makeup or instead of makeup in the summer. They give the face a little bit of color, which is nice and they give a lot of sunscreen protection that reflects the UVA/UVB rays. These are great ways to wear sunscreen that is reef safe, meaning it won't harm ocean reefs with its ingredients.
Both of theses sunscreens are available at www.mychelle.com and anywhere else MyChelle is sold. Like MyChelle on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/MyChelleDermaceuticals; Follow MyChelle on Twitter: @mychelle; Follow MyChelle on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/mychellebeauty/; Follow MyChelle on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/mychellebeauty/ and Subscribe to MyChelle on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/MyChelleSkinCare

Who's Most Concerned About Sun Safety? #SkinCancer #Sunscreen

Who's Most Concerned About Sun Safety?

I have had skin cancer. At 48. I had a basal cell carcinoma on my upper arm. It came upon me within a week. My doctor didn't even think it was cancer when he saw it. But as it turns out it was cancer. The reason you SHOULD be concerned about sun safety is becasue this month is national Skin Cancer Awareness Month. WEAR SUNSCREEN. ALL THE TIME! Especially on your face and arms, they get the most sun, but also on your chest, legs and neck and the back of your body too.
This is the data from the study:
[As summer approaches and states begin to ease COVID-19 social distancing orders, it’s more tempting than ever to get outside – and too easy to forget about protecting your skin from the sun. But foregoing sunscreen just once can cause sun damage such as brown spots, wrinkles, and sunburns that often lead to cosmetic procedures. More importantly, sun damage can result in serious medical concerns like skin cancer.
Do people take these concerns seriously? We surveyed 2,015 Americans to find out. A shocking 40 percent say they rarely or never wear sunscreen, and that more than 70 percent only wear it in the summer. Even then, a majority of respondents (77%) say reserve sunscreen for certain activities on sunny days.
Less than one in four (23%) say they wear sunscreen most or all of the time. That’s a concerning statistic, given that 76 percent of respondents don’t know the ABCDE rule of skin cancer and more than half have never been checked by a professional for signs of it.
Sunscreen Usage in 2020
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in America – and yet just 34 percent of respondents say they worry about getting it.
This made us wonder, where in America are residents most concerned? By measuring Google search trends at a state level and comparing search rates to local levels of risk and occurrence, we’ve been able to determine where in the country people are most and least actively concerned about skin cancer.
Just nine states are extremely concerned about getting skin cancer, including ones you might expect such as Florida and Hawaii. Others that are extremely concerned? New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, and Missouri, whose skin cancer rates are low, but search rates are high.
A staggering 24 states remain not concerned enough about skin cancer, including Vermont, Idaho, Delaware, and Montana, all of whom have high rates of skin cancer but average or low search rates.
Sunscreen Usage in 2020
Methodology
Between March 27 and March 28, 2020, we surveyed 2,015 people about their relationship with sunscreen. The average age of respondents was 38; 57% were female, 43% were male. A majority of respondents identified as Caucasian (72%), followed by African American (9%), Asian (9%), Latino or Hispanic (5%), and other (2%).
We then conducted an analysis of Google search trends in order to analyze awareness of and interest in skin cancer. We identified 12 search terms that indicate a level of interest and gathered search averages for the prior year, which we related to state populations to produce a metric representing relative levels of concern.
Finally, we compared levels of concern to the latest skin cancer data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which indicates the skin cancer rate per 100,000 people in each state. By comparing levels of risk to levels of concern, we identified where each state falls along a spectrum of concern.]

Review: GLAMGLOW BERRYGLOW Probiotic Recovery Mask #GLAMGLOW #BERRYGLOW #probioticrecoverymask

(product photo courtesy of www.sephora.com)

2.5 fl.oz./75mL $49.00
Masks are the care in skincare. They are essential treats we give ourselves when we need more care than our regular skincare products can give us. Masks provide specialized care for skin that help to exfoliate, clean out pores, soothe skin and help skin to recover from peels and any sort of treatment.

Lately masks have been able to get probiotics in them, which is great because probiotics are essential for the skin's function. Our skin has a microbiome mantle that actually protects the skin from bad bacteria. GLAMGLOW BERRYGLOW Probiotic Recovery Mask is the perfect mask to help restore the probiotic microbiome. BERRYGLOW is like a superfood smoothie for your face. Blended with beet root and hibiscus flower, this creamy, nutrient-dense, soothing hydration treatment helps repair a compromised skin barrier. Skin feels strengthened with a visibly revived, healthy glow. This mask is a moisturizing mask packed with super berries to help repair skin's moisture barrier. It is for normal, combination and dry skin. The mask helps the following skincare concerns: dryness, dullness, uneven skin texture and fine lines and wrinkles.

The superberry blend is a mix of antioxidant-rich fruit extracts such as blueberry, cranberry and goji berry and vitamins to nurture the skin. Lactobacillus Ferment Probiotic: Helps balance and support a healthy skin microbiome. Jojoba Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, and Shea Butter help to replenish hydration and to visibly plump skin while protecting the skin’s moisture barrier. The mask is free of sulfates, SLS, SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil and triclosan. It is also gluten-free.

To use, apply a thick even layer to clean skin and leave for 10 minutes. For best results tissue off and smooth in any excess. If desired, rinse off and follow with your favorite skincare.

I love this mask because it is very soothing to the skin and helps reduce redness and dryness. It brings a glow back to the skin that is lacking after a long stress induced weekend or after one has binged a little too much on the alcohol. This mask will renew your skin's microbiome and give it some love. Don't worry, there is nothing worrisome in this mask. It is like putting some soothing yogurt on your skin. Yogurt with berries.

GLAMGLOW BERRYGLOW Probiotic Recovery Mask retails for $49.00 and is available at www.glamglow.com and www.sephora.comLike SEPHORA on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Sephora?ref=br_tf; Follow SEPHORA on Twitter: @Sephora, Follow SEPHORA on Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Sephora/; Follow SEPHORA on Instagram: http://instagram.com/SEPHORA#; Subscribe to SEPHORA on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9YX5x_VU8gfe0Oui0TaLJgFollow SEPHORA on Wanelo: http://wanelo.com/sephora and Follow SEPHORA on Tumblr: http://theglossy.sephora.com/.

Review: MyChelle Dermaceuticas PROTECT Sun Shield SPF28 Unscented (Reef Safe) #MyChelle #sunscreen #reefsafe #SPF28

(product photo courtesy of www.mychelle.com)

2.3 fl.oz./68mL $22.00

MyChelle has revamped their sunscare line and it is better than ever. This year they have all new sunscreen with Reef Safe ingredients that make it better than ever for the oceans. This review is about MyChelle PROTECT Sun Shield SPF29 Unscented (Reef Safe). It contains Zinc Oxide 11.6% and Titanium Dioxide 0.67%. Both of these are mineral sunscreens which deflect the sun's rays instead of absorbing them into the skin. This sunscreen has no scent to it, which is good for those who are sensitive to scents. It is also good for those who are allergic to chemical sunscreens. Normally I prefer at least a SPF40, but this will do nicely because it is a mineral sunscreen which works better. Also, this is a broad spectrum sunscreen, that deflects UVA/UVB rays with soothing Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to help reduce signs of sun-induced irritation. Lightweight daily protection absorbs quickly into the skin for a smooth, clear and matte finish. Does not contain Retinyl Palmitate or chemical UV absorbers including Octinoxate, Octisalate, Oxybenzone or PABA. Made without the use of parabens, petroleum, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, ureas, artificial fragrances and artificial colors.

To Use: SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. For daily use, apply to clean, dry skin and allow to absorb completely before applying makeup. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating. Reapply at least every 2 hours. For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. When using this product keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash and irritation develops and lasts. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad-spectrum SPF of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: (a) Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (b) Wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses. (c) Children under 6 months: It is not advisable to take babies into the sun but ask a pediatrician first.

I like this sunscreen because it is perfect for a daily sunscreen or under makeup. It sinks into the skin and doesn't leave a chalky white residue nor does it leave a heavy greasy feeling. Normally I prefer a higher level but this will do nicely. I always wear a sunscreen on my face, even in the winter. This sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours if you are in the sun. That cannot be accomplished if you are wearing makeup, so I would not wear it if you are going to be in the sun and wearing makeup. Otherwise it works great.

MyChelle PROTECT Sun Shield SPF28 Unscented (Reef Safe) retails for $22.00 and comes in a large tube of 2.3 fl.oz./68mL. Like MyChelle on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/MyChelleDermaceuticals; Follow MyChelle on Twitter: @mychelle; Follow MyChelle on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/mychellebeauty/; Follow MyChelle on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/mychellebeauty/ and Subscribe to MyChelle on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/MyChelleSkinCare

Review: MyChelle Dermaceuticals PROTECT Replenishing Solar Defense Body Lotion SPF50 (Reef Safe) #MyChelle #sunscreen #SPF50

(product photo courtesy of www.mychelle.com)

6.0 fl.oz./177mL $30.00

I have a great sunscreen to review for you today. It is MyChelle PROTECT Replenishing Solar Defense Body Lotion SPF50 and it is Reef Safe. That means that the ingredients will not harm the reefs in the oceans as some of the other ingredients tend to do. This is a 100% Zinc Oxide sunscreen that has 21% zinc oxide in it and it is also hydrating to help prevent the premature aging and skin cancer that occurs when you go into the sun. It also helps to re-establish an essential moisture balance of the skin that most sunscreens cannot provide. It has UVA/UVB broad spectrum protection and is great for those who are allergic to chemical sunscreens. This sunscreen is also water resistant for up to 80 minutes. It doesn't contain Retinyl Palmitate or any chemical UV absorbers including Octinoxate, Ocitsalate, Oxybenzone or PABA. This sunscreen has been made without parabens, petroleum, phthalates, silicones, sulfates, ureas, artificial fragrances and artificial colors.

Directions: SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. Apply liberally and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply: After 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, or at least every 2 hours. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or higher and other sun protection measures including: (a) Limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (b) Wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses. (c) Children under 6 months: Ask a pediatrician but it is advisable to avoid the sun with children under 6 months usually.

The reason I like this sunscreen so much is because it is made from 100% zinc oxide and I love mineral sunscreens so much. I also like how well this cream sinks into the body. Usually I prefer a mist sunscreen but this is great when I have the time to actually sit down and apply the sunscreen all over my body. Because of the pandemic I haven't really been in the sun in two months but I plan on going out soon and this is the main product I plan on using. I did use it to try out and see how well it actually spreads and sinks into the skin. It does a good job. And it doesn't leave a whitish cast. Make sure to reapply after about 2 hours in the sun so that you do not get burned.

MyChelle PROTECT Replenishing Solar Defense Body Lotion SPF50 (Reef Safe) retails for $30.00 but it comes in a huge tube of 6 fl.oz./177mL and should last for a while. Like MyChelle on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/MyChelleDermaceuticals; Follow MyChelle on Twitter: @mychelle; Follow MyChelle on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/mychellebeauty/; Follow MyChelle on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/mychellebeauty/ and Subscribe to MyChelle on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/MyChelleSkinCare

COVERGIRL recently introduced a new line to their existing lineup of cosmetics called Clean Fresh, Clean Fresh is formaldehyde free, talc-free, phthalate-free and paraben free. It is also cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny Certified, but this applies to all COVERGIRL cosmetics.

The shades are: Juiced, Quench, Bad Apple, Fresh Squeezed, Swipe Ripe and Sour Grapes.

Here I am wearing the shades:

above: wearing Swipe Ripe

above: swearing Sour Grapes

I like the tinted lip oil because it makes my lips very soft and hydrated without having to replace it often as one has to do with lip balm. It does last about 4-6 hours with normal wear. This product does have to be replaced after eating though. Otherwise there are no issues with this and it is a very nice product that has a very nice tint to it for when you aren't in the mood to wear lipstick but still want a hint of color.

COVERGIRL Clean Fresh Tinted Lip Oil retails for $10.49.
