Recently DERMA E, the line most known for proven clean beauty, recently came out with its own line of hair care products. I was lucky enough to try two of the different shampoos and conditioners. The great thing about their hair care is it is inexpensive and the line is targeted towards certain hair conditions.
This review will discuss the DERMA E Therapeutic Scalp Relief Shampoo & Conditioner. Different than other shampoo and conditioners for dry scalps, it gently detangles, de-flakes, soothes and nourishes the scalp and hair. This set has been doctor-developed to help relieve a dry, irritated scalp. The shampoo is gentle yet thoroughly cleanses and helps alleviate symptoms associated with a dry, irritated scalp. The conditioner helps to detangle hair, soothe and calm a dry, irritated scalp. This way when you finish washing your hair, it will feel softer, soothed and definitely flake-free. Safe for color-treated hair, use for a complete soothing scalp care regimen.
The Shampoo and Conditioner have been enriched with the following:
- Therapeutic Psorzema® Herbal Blend (Neem, Burdock and Bearberry): replenishes a dry, irritated, scaling scalp, helping to promote optimum scalp and hair health
- Tea Tree and Menthol: help calm and cool itch on contact and help maintain scalp purity over time
- Salicylic Acid: penetrates to lift away excess flakes and surface buildup.
Gentle enough for daily use. Massage shampoo into wet hair and scalp. Allow the product to penetrate for 3-5 minutes. Rinse and repeat as desired. Then apply conditioner to freshly shampooed hair and scalp. Allow the product to penetrate for 2-3 minutes. Rinse, towel dry, then style as usual. Avoid getting in eyes. Works best after 7 days of use.
I definitely have dry hair and a dry scalp. I don't have dandruff but my hair doesn't produce any oils that actually help to keep the hair shiny and soft. So for me, this shampoo and conditioner are a godsend. I could go a week without washing and I don't get oily at all (only if I have been ill). This shampoo is so much better than any dandruff or dry scalp shampoo because the salicylic acid helps to exfoliate the dead, dry skin from the scalp, getting rid of it and helping to let the other ingredients into the skin to soothe and calm the scalp. Tea Tree and Menthol help calm and cool any itchiness while the Therapeutic Psorzema Herbal Blend of Neem, Burdock and Bearberry help to replenish and soothe a dry, scaling scalp and promote the most optimum scalp and hair growth. Using the shampoo and conditioner is like having a facial for the scalp.
