Make no mistake, winter skin can often become dry and flaky, no matter what skin type you have. But that doesn't mean you have to let yourself go. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to have a super-duper exfoliating treatment followed by a wonderful moisturizer. One of the best exfoliating treatments I have ever tried is the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment. It even won a 2020 Allure Reader's Choice Award

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment is an AHA/BHA, enzyme and botanical filled treatment that is wonderful for a very quick yet thorough exfoliation of dry, flaky or congested skin. It is actually suitable for all skin types and works in just a couple of minutes. This is a scrub that is clinic inspired by Kate Somerville, the Los Angeles based Esthetician herself. With regular use it reveals smoother texture, softer skin, decreased pore size and a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles in two minutes while also preparing skin to  better absorb the rest of your skincare regimen. After 1 use*:
  • 94% reported a significant improvement in smoother skin texture
  • 97% showed a significant improvement in pores
  • 100% showed highly significant improvement in crow's feet, fine lines and wrinkles
After 4 weeks*, 100% showed significant improvement in the appearance of skin texture, pores, crow's feet, fine lines and wrinkles.

(*Clinically proven results based on independent clinical study)

If you look at the ingredients alone, it should not surprise you why this would work so well. This treatment is filled with the following highly effective exfoliating & skin conditioning ingredients:
  • lactic acid: an AHA great for all skin types that breaks down skin cells and reduces fine lines and wrinkles, smoothes skin texture
  • silica: a smooth round mineral that naturally exfoliates the skin, adding to the exfoliating process
  • papain: an enzyme from papayas that helps to break down dead skin cells and exfoliate the skin, smoothes skin texture
  • salicylic acid: a BHA that decongests pores and soothes inflammation from acne
  • pumpkin ferment extract: an exfoliating enzyme that breaks down skin cells and smoothes rough skin texture while also reducing fine lines and wrinkles; helps to protect the natural moisture barrier
  • honey extract: a humectant that brings moisture to the skin, helping to smooth fine line and wrinkles
  • bergamot fruit oil: reduces inflammation
  • lavender oil: soothes inflammation
  • beta carotene: antioxidant and skin conditioning ingredient
  • aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder: functions as a skin conditioning agent
  • acetic acid: an AHA that functions to break down skin cells
  • orange peel oil: an anti-inflammatory oil that helps soothe the skin
To use: apply the green botanical scrub to skin, can be use in the shower for great results. Use AM or PM. Once or twice a week at the most. Apply a thin, even layer to clean, wet skin and massage in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Leave on for up to 2 minutes. Rinse and gently pat dry. It might tingle and leave skin with a slight pink to red flush, this is normal. For sensitive skin leave on for less than 1 minute or use ExfoliKate Gentle instead.

Use of the ExfoliKate Intensive Treatment will result in skin that is extremely soft, supple and smooth with a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. It even soothes inflammation caused by acne. The acids and enzymes in the product produce good results in just mere minutes that can usually be achieved by a salon facial. The best part is, while most products say they are for all skin types, this is truly for all skin types. It is a scrub but is gentle enough to be use for acneic to sensitive skins. That is rare in the beauty business. Products like this are generally pricey but worth every penny. I received this in a subscription box and would personally purchase it if I had the choice. Anytime I can apply a product this good to my skin and come up with good results like this, I am a happy camper.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Treatment retails for $85.00.  Like Kate Somerville on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/katesomervilleskincare; Follow Kate Somerville on Twitter: @katesomerville; Follow Kate Somerville on Pinterest: https://pinterest.com/katesomervilles/; Follow Kate Somerville on Instagram: https://instagram.com/katesomervilleskincare/ and Subscribe to Kate Somerville on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/katesomervilleskin.
