No matter what time of the year it is, skin needs to be hydrated. The weather outside may be wintry or it may be hot and sticky, but your skin still says it is thirsty. What if you have oily skin or happen to have combination skin? Yes, you still do need to moisturize. Just use something appropriately light enough for your skin type.
One moisturizer I happen to like for those with somewhat oilier skin types is Farmacy Beauty Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer. This lightweight yet very hydrating moisturizer works to quench thirsty skin and make it feel oh so happy. It is an oil-free and silicone-free daily moisturizer that delivers lasting hydration without leaving skin feeling greasy at all. The formula contains moisture magnate hyaluronic acid and a blend of phytonutrients known to help clear pores and reduce shine. It provides water-light hydration with a blend of hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acids. These are natural bacteria that are fermented and originally used in wound healing. The acids actually hold 5,000 times their own weight in water; 5x more so than hyaluronic acid. Polyglutamic acids are the new "heavyweights" in skincare science. Daily greens also contains phytonutrients such as purifying moringa water (sourced from a family farm in Coachella Valley, CA), papaya and willow herb to help clear pores of dirt & impurities and reduce shine. It also contains niacinamide, which is a great ingredient that helps regulate sebum control. The refreshing formula also soothes and calms the skin of minor irritations, something that will help soothe acne lesions.
The directions recommend to use this twice a day, in the morning and evening. Use on a clean face. If using in the am, make sure to use a sunscreen afterwards. It is definitely lightweight enough that a sunscreen can be used over the top.
I happen to have dry skin and and I actually found this moisturizer very rich and hydrating to my skin. It absorbs quickly, sinking into the skin and quelling any dryness. I would recommend it for those with oily, combination and normal skin types. This product is very, very hydrating. The moisturizer itself is a pale green gel-cream and it has an herbal scent. But nothing off-putting. It has a scent that is very refreshing and uplifting. This product is "clean": it is free of parabens, synthetic fragrance, formaldehyde, mineral-oil and phthalates. It is also vegan and cruelty-free.
