Foot peels are all the rage these days and with good reason. For just an hour of your time, you can literally soak your feet in a creamy bath of heavy alpha hydroxy & beta hydroxy acids. In the box are enough for two treatments. First clean and dry your feet. You take it out of the box, cut the peel in half and slip your feet in each bootie. Then use the plastic tape ties to tape the booties shut. Slip some socks over the booties and leave on for an hour. This allows the ingredients to become absorbed into the skin. After an hour take the booties off and gently wash feet with soap. Feet should start peeling within 7-10 days. Make sure to soak feet in warm water for 10 minutes every day to help feet peel. For hard and thick calluses, use the second treatment after the first time your feet have finished peeling. Do not use this product if you are nursing, if you are a diabetic consult a physician first, if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have any open sores on your feet.
This peel contains the following ingredients that allow it to peel the dead, thick skin off of your feet: lactic acid, malic acid, aloe vera extract, citric acid and salicylic acid. The lactic acid is an AHA that comes from milk and is very gentle yet powerful. It not only exfoliates but hydrates the skin too. Malic acid, another AHA, comes from apples and is a powerful exfoliant that works well at exfoliating the top of the epidermis and promotes collagen production. Aloe vera extract helps to hydrate the skin. Citric acid is an AHA that comes from lemons and works well as an exfoliant it has a lower pH level than most and is stronger. Finally we have salicylic acid which is a BHA and in high doses works well at exfoliating the dead skin on the feet. It is especially good as an exfoliant for cracked heels and thick skin like calluses.
I used the peel and followed the directions as mentioned. Then I waited for my feet to start peeling. Granted, I have some pretty thick calluses on my feet so I decided to use a pumice stone on those but after about a week I took of my socks one day to find a lot of nasty dead skin flying off my feet. Granted I have used foot peels before, but this one was better. I literally had skin coming off in large sheets! I started to peel the skin off of my feet and I am still peeling skin off of my feet! The thick calluses that I had on my feet came off much easier because they had been softened up from the peeling solution. The skin on my feet really has really been coming off and peeling like crazy. I expected this, because I had some dry, cracked skin on my heels. Overall this foot peel performs very well. And I as I mentioned, I have used a few different brands. But basically if you follow the instructions you will definitely see peeling of the skin. I think this would make a great self-care gift for Mother's Day. What mother doesn't want her feet to look nice in sandals for spring and summer? Or purchase two and get one for yourself and one for mom! The peel itself is priced decently and you get two peels in one box.
It's been three weeks since I did the peel and my feet are still peeling! This product really works well. I am utterly amazed at how well it works. I would take a picture of my feet but the peeling of the skin looks disgusting, honestly. Again, this would make a great gift. Especially because it really does work so well.
