COVERGIRL Lash Blast Clean Volume Mascara has a clean, vegan formula that is free of parabens, sulfates, talc and mineral oil. Now, normally sulfates and talc are not used in mascara formulas, so that is probably a moot point. However, parabens are preservatives and can be taken out, as some people are sensitive to them. And mineral oil was used in mascaras. This is a volumizing mascara that is infused with Argan oil and marula oil, leaving lashes feeling conditioned. It is long-lasting mascara that creates 10x the volume of bare lashes with no smudging or clumping. The brush applicator separates and defines for longer, fuller lashes. It comes in four shades: Pitch Black, Very Black, Black, and Black/Brown. I tried out Very Black and Black/Brown. COVERGIRL's specially designed applicator brush separates and defines for visibly longer, fuller lashes. The packaging is made from 80% recycled paper from well managed forests. COVERGIRL is cruelty-free and is Leaping Bunny certified.
To use, start at the base of your lashes, wiggle the brush from side to side and from base to tip lift and shape. Layer as desired. To build dramatic lash thickness, use an eyelash primer and wait 30 seconds for it to dry before applying COVERGIRL Lash Blast Clean Volume Mascara.

Here you can see my lashes wearing the mascara after I have done my makeup. I did an up close look. See the difference between my naked lashes and with the mascara? There is a HUGE difference in volume. Even for me. This is about the best angle I could get with the camera.

If you have read this blog before, you know the battle I face with my wimpy, puny eyelashes. Mine are short, almost invisible and do not do well with just any mascara, It takes a lot to make them look good. So, I went into trying COVERGIRL Lash Blast Clean Volume Mascara with some skepticism. I have yet to find a mascara that will give me any sort of decent length, be smudge-proof, add volume and come off easily with makeup remover without damaging my lashes.
This mascara is smudge-proof. Check that box off. It is also clump-proof and wear-proof. Check off two more boxes. It applies easily and has the same wonderful Lash Blast applicator that you have known and come to love. If you will notice you can even see my eyelashes in the photos above (up close and portrait), which is highly unusual considering how short and puny they are in real life. I must admit that I was very happy with this formula. It wore well all day long and gave my eyelashes instant lift, length, and volume. All without clumping or smudging. And it wore well throughout the day. It is not waterproof mind you. But it does a great job of doing what a basic mascara should do: provide length and volume. However, it does it and does it well while giving you the clean formula you want with sustainability, and a cruelty-free formula.
