Hot on the heels of their liquid foundation launch, (Bare Minerals BARESKIN Pure Brightening Serum Foundation), Bare Minerals introduces a new foundation product called Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. This is a combination tinted moisturizer, BB Cream and CC Cream all rolled into one. It comes in ten shades from lightest Opal (for fair porcelain skin with cool undertones) to darkest Sienna (for deep skin with neutral undertones).
Complexion Rescue rehydrates skin with olive derived squalane and marine botanicals. It also has water loving humectants trehalose and glycerin that keep skin replenished and hydrated. Unique water-encapsulations give skin an instant burst of hydration. A Mineral Electrolyte Complex helps replenish and energize skin. Heart leaf globe daisy helps to protect against environmental stressors. A mineral based SPF 30 (titanium dioxide 6.2%) protects skin against sun damage and environmental aggressors. This product does not contain any silicones, oils, parabens or fragrances. It has been clinically tested, dermatologist tested, is non-comedogenic and it is hypoallergenic. An independent clinical study had 62 participants try out Complexion Rescue for one week. After one week’s use, 100% of women who used it found their skin texture felt better. There was also a 215% increase in skin hydration after one week’s use.
To go with this launch, Bare Minerals has also come with a Smoothing Face Brush that is used to apply the Complexion Rescue. This brush is a dual fiber synthetic face brush that provides an airbrushed effect to the face. This brush gives a soft, smooth application of the Complexion Rescue. It retails for $28.00 and is the perfect accompaniment to use with it. Just apply some of the Complexion Rescue to your hand then dip the Smoothing Face Brush into the Complexion Rescue, apply to the various areas of your face (forehead, cheeks, nose and chin). Smooth it out, starting at the forehead and move out and downward. Voila! Your face will look gorgeous, skin looks glowing and radiant. The finish it gives is naturally radiant.
Opal is the shade I use, you can see above that it is the closest to my skin tone. I really like this product and think that for spring and summer this is going to be a great alternative to regular foundation. This is also great to use instead of a tinted moisturizer, BB Cream and CC Cream because Complexion Rescue functions as all of those items. The coverage you get with this is sheer to medium and can be built up some. I also like that it comes in so many shades. The shade choices with this product are much better than the usual suspects that most companies put out with tinted moisturizers, BB Creams and CC Creams. Usually you get say, 3-4 shade choices at the most. Bare Minerals has 10 shade choices that are all over the color spectrum. They have shades for fair, medium and dark skin tones. Even the palest shade is just about perfect for my very pale skin tone. This product crosses the line from cosmetic to skincare. It is a great combination of both.
