I Am THE Makeup Junkie's Favorite's of 2018 #iamthemakeupjunkie #favoriteproductsof2018 #bestof2018

I Am THE Makeup Junkie's Favorite's of 2018

It is the final day of 2018, December 31st. Over the past year I have reviewed hundreds of products and thankfully had great things to say about most if not all of them. I always try to find something good to write in a review. After all, a company sends me a product, which is a form of payment and therefore expects something good to be said about their product. But I am always honest and I will tell the truth about products. If a product isn't good I don't review it and if it has issues I mention it.

Today is just a compilation of products that I have found particularly great of the ones I have tried and some I have reviewed over the past year. Some may be your favorites too, I hope they are. That means that they are exceptionally great products.

FAVORITE COSMETICS BRAND: ColourPop Cosmetics/Kylie Cosmetics
I am a little late to discovering this brand. I started purchasing from them early in 2018. I am sure happy I did. With their collections and new palettes from their original Super Shock Shadows, this inexpensive but high quality brand is the hottest around. I love just about everything they come out with. Now they even have skincare.

I am also loving Kylie Cosmetics. Everything she puts out is awesome. Prices are higher but the quality is also awesome too.

This brand actually makes products from YOUR suggestions! All you have to do is complete a little quiz about the product you want to have made and then the company might make they product if they feel that there is nothing like it currently in the skincare market. They keep expanding their line and have skincare and makeup.

FAVORITE MASCARA: This goes to two different items. Wander Beauty Unlashed Curl & Volume Mascara ($24) and Rimmel London Wonder'Fully Mascara ($5.99). I reviewed both items and consider them to be my HOLY GRAIL Mascaras. Both give my wimpy, invisible lashes lift, length, curl and volume. I especially love the Rimmel London Wonder'Fully Mascara as an everyday mascara that is easy to use and washes off easily. It gives each lash luscious length and definiton without clumps. This truly is their best mascara yet.

FAVORITE LIP GLOSS: Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss ($20). This lip gloss was introduced in the middle of the year. It is gorgeous. Non-sticky yet still provides full coverage and iridescent colors. I love the newer colors they came up with for all of the collections that followed.

FAVORITE EYE SHADOW: ColourPop Pressed Eye Shadow, Kylie Cosmetics Eye Shadows and Urban Decay Eye Shadow. It is a tie because during the beginning of the year UD was still using its Pigment Infusion System and it is no longer using that, of which I am very disappointed. I think they decided it was cheaper to product the eyeshadows without it and have cheapened their shadows somewhat. However ColourPop Pressed Eye Shadows and Kylie Cosmetics Eye Shadows are the best by far lately with their ability to be ultra pigmented. Kylie Jenner's are far superior in that they have little to no fallout and are just amazing. ColourPop eyeshadows have a little bit of fallout and they need to work on that.

FAVORITE ECZEMA TREATMENT: Kamedis CALM Eczema Therapy ($20.99). I had some eczema or atopic dermatitis on my neck that seems to only appear every so often and this sloughed it away in less than 1 week. It is made with botanicals such as rhubarb and 12% sulphur as its main ingredient. It works amazingly well and there is no stinging or anything.

FAVORITE FOUNDATION: FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation ($34). This is the best foundation I have ever used. I thought I had reviewed it but I guess not. It is the best matching foundation I have ever found too. Which is highly unusual. I wear 100, for very fair skin with neutral undertones. It is a medium to high coverage and is buildable. It comes in 40 skin loving shades.

FAVORITE LIQUID LINER: Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo Liner ($20) & Ink Well Liquid Liner ($20). These liners are waterproof, smudge-proof and last literally all day long (24 hours). They go on easily and the Ink Well Liquid Liners come in a number of shades that look gorgeous on.

FAVORITE BLUSH: NARS Blush ($39) Truthfully these have been the best blushes for so long that nobody can come along and dethrone NARS. He makes the most beautiful blush colors and the classic Orgasm is still the number one seller. I must admit that I own more colors than I care to say. I bought a few more this year because they are so beautiful and he came out with some new colors that are really quite stunning.

FAVORITE LIPSTICK: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick ($18) With so many colors and finishes, this lipstick is the best around. Highly pigmented and lip-loving, UD gave us the best lipstick it has ever concocted. I hope they keep this lipstick and don't get rid of it.

FAVORITE MASK: Summer Fridays Jet Lag Masque ($48)
This mask will truly transform dry, dehydrated skin. Give your skin over to this transformative mask that helps rehydrate skin. Natural botanicals help this uber-dewy mask add it in spades by steeping cells in a nourishing mix of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and gently exfoliating extracts. Skin looks instantly renewed, radiant and ready for anything.

FAVORITE EXFOLIANT: SKINFOOD Black Sugar Honey Mask Wash Off ($11.50)
This yummy smelling mask/exfoliant is just about the best thing your skin can ask for. It contains organic Brazilian black sugar and honey to exfoliate, soften and hydrate the skin. After 15 minutes of use twice a week, your skin will look and feel amazing.

FAVORITE SUNSCREEN: SUPERGOOP UNSEEN Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF40 ($32) This is my FAVORITE Sunscreen ever. It goes on crystal clear, sinks into skin immediately and practically fills in pores. Skin feels slick as a whistle and looks amazing. You only need a small blob to cover your entire face and neck. And it wears extremely well under foundation. In fact, it makes foundation go on extremely well.

FAVORITE SKINCARE DEVICE: FOREO UFO Mini Smart Mask ($179) This mask device uses Korean sheet type masks with special serums and the use of heat and sonic technology to have the device penetrate the serum into the skin easily. Each mask only takes 90 seconds to work. It is very similar the the FOREO UFO except it doesn't have cryotechnology. Which is fine with me and I like using just the heat and sonic technology. I use masks such as Youth Junkie (collagen), Glow Addict (brightens with pearl powder), Call It A Night (revitalizing & nourishing) and Make My Day (hydrating & anti-pollution). Each box of masks are $19.95.

FAVORITE PALETTE OF 2018: URBAN DECAY BACKTALK EYE & CHEEK PALETTE ($46) I love this palette for the entire year's best because it is something that looks good on everyone. These shades of roses and berries are very neutral shades. Not only that but it is an eye and cheek palette, so you are getting 8 beautiful eyeshadows and 4 beautiful blushes/highlighters. Here is a photo of me wearing colors from this palette:

Well, those are my favorites of 2018. I am so happy to share these with you. I love blogging about products and I look forward to doing more beauty and lifestyle blogging in the year 2019. If you have favorites, write them in the comments section, I'd love to hear about them.

Review: SKINFOOD Black Sugar Honey Mask Wash Off #SKINFOOD #BlackSugarHoneyMaskWashOff #Exfoliant #Mask

(product photo courtesy of

100g $11.50
In the past few years Korean skincare has become extremely popular in the United States, and with good reason. The importation of Korean skincare is great for Americans because we can finally experience some of the best skincare that money has to buy. In Korea there are many, many chemicals and ingredients that are banned (also in the EU and Japan) that are not banned in the United States which makes their skincare much safer and better than our skincare. Also, they have better masks, such as sheet masks which are all the rage right now and great exfoliants that help get rid of extraneous dead skin cells helping to make skin look radiant and bright.

Today I'd like to review one of my favorite exfoliant/masks, SKINFOOD Black Sugar Honey Mask Wash Off. This product is an amazing exfoliant/mask that is AWESOME. It is made primarily from organic Brazilian black sugar and rich moisturizing honey that helps to exfoliate, soften and to hydrate the skin. It is enriched with vitamins and minerals to nourish the skin. Honey is a humectant that attracts moisture to the skin, thus helping to add water from the air and sugar is a natural physical exfoliant that is gentle enough for anyone who does not have acneic skin. It dissolves in water and does not pollute the water system. Also, it is so gentle on the skin but is an excellent exfoliant.

This product is applied to damp skin after cleansing and then massaged gently for about one minute. Then let sit for about 10-15 minutes for the honey to do its job and rinse with lukewarm water. Dry skin with a towel and apply serums and moisturizer. If using during the morning make sure to apply SPF.

I apply any leftover to my hands and use it on my hands so that they can get the benefits too. After using this mask skin will feel incredibly soft, hydrated and definitely look brighter. Dull skin will be gone and only, newer skin will be in its place. I would use this at least 2-3 times a week as it is so gentle that it can be used often. It can be recommended for almost any skin type except acneic skins with pustules. This kind of mask will help get rid of blackheads, whiteheads and milia. Like I said, it is very gentle. Even sensitive skin can use this.

SKINFOOD Black Sugar Honey Mask Wash Off retails for $11.50 on It can also be purchased online at and Like SKINFOOD on Facebook: and Follow SKINFOOD on Instagram:

Review: bliss Holographic Foil Sheet Masks the detoxifier, the hangover fix & eye got this #bliss #holographicfoilsheetmask #hangoverfix #eyegotthis #thedetoxifier #mask #sheetmask

bliss Holographic Foil Sheet Masks: the detoxifier, the hangover fix & eye got this
$4.00 each mask/Buy 4 Get 1 Free!

Recently bliss came out with some awesome sheet masks. Sheet masks have become all the rage lately and these are especially fun, they are holographic! That really jazzes up the sheet mask routine, doesn't it? There are 3 masks in the Holographic Foil Sheet mask series: hangover fix, the detoxifier and eye got this.

The Hangover Fix is made for skin that needs a pick me up, whether you had too much to drink the night before or your skin looks a little tired and dehydrated. This foil-backed holographic sheet mask replenishes and re-balances dull, dehydrated skin for an instantly brighter, revived complexion. Essential probiotics and electrolytes help enhance skin's natural defense barrier and protect against free radicals. The mask hugs facial contours and forms a protective barrier to intensify serum delivery and absorption. This means that it delivers nearly a full bottle of serum in just 1 treatment!!!! And of course this mask is cruelty-free. It contains the following ingredients to make this mask work so well.
  • Pear Extract is rich in vitamins and essential minerals. It is known to help balance skin and help retain skin's natural moisture for a smooth and soft complexion.
  • Bifida Ferment Lysate and Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate are natural probiotics that are known to nourish, help strengthen skin's barrier and lock in moisture to leave the complexion hydrated and soothed.
  • Sodium Citrate, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride and Sodium Chloride are electrolytes that help replenish and balance skin while protecting it from free radicals.
After wearing this mask skin looks brighter, more radiant and skin definitely feels softer and more plump, and supple. Use this mask when skin is dehydrated or very dry. I would recommend this for all skin types as it does not cause acne lesions. As long as skin is not full of active pustules I think it would be fine to use on any skin type. To use: apply foil sheet mask onto a clean, dry face. Adjust eye, nose and mouth openings to fit. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Remove the mask. Gently pat remaining serum into skin (No need to rinse).

The Detoxifier Mask is a foil backed sheet mask that gently exfoliates and detoxifies pores for super smooth and radiant skin. Binchotan charcoal fibers are woven into the material to help detoxify and purify the skin. It hugs facial contours and forms a protective barrier to intensify serum delivery and absorption (nearly a full bottle of serum is delivered in 1 treatment). And of course it is cruelty-free. The following ingredients are what make this mask so special:
  • Willow Bark Extract is a natural and gentle exfoliant that helps slough off dead skin cells, making way for fresh, bright and radiant skin.
  • Charcoal Powder is known to bind and help pull out dirt, sebum and debris from pores, making them less visible.
  • Kaolin, which is also used for making porcelain, is a mild clay that helps absorb impurities without removing natural oils in the skin.
After using this mask, skin feels clean, detoxified and radiant. It definitely feels smoother and somewhat brighter too. The charcoal pulls out so much gunk from the pores that you may experience a some small pimples popping up afterwards. That are any impurities that are leftover. To use: apply foil sheet mask onto a clean, dry face. Adjust eye, nose and mouth openings to fit. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Remove the mask. Gently pat remaining serum into skin (No need to rinse).

Eye Got This is a foil backed holographic eye mask that refreshes and awakens the eyes while helping to visibly reduce puffiness and dark circles. It contains potent vegetable-derived serum moisturizers and smoothes the eye area. This mask hugs facial contours and forms a protective barrier to intensify serum delivery and absorption. Like all other bliss products, it is cruelty-free. The following ingredients help this mask accomplish the goals mentioned above:
  • Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is a powerful peptide that is known to visibly smooth fine lines.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate is a unique lightweight moisturizer with an even smaller molecule size versus hyaluronic acid that holds 1000 times its own weight in water.
  • Hydrating Blend with Xylitol is a unique vegetable-derived combination of moisturizers that help limit water loss.
After using this mask, your eyes will be brighter, less puffy and dark circles will be decreased. Try to use whenever your eyes get like that to keep them from being tired looking. To use: apply foil eye masks onto clean, dry under-eye area. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Remove eye masks. Gently pat remaining serum into skin. (No need to rinse).

Here is a photo of me using the detoxifier mask. Notice the holographic sheet look and how different it is from any other sheet mask:

wearing bliss Holographic Sheet Mask the detoxifier
I love these masks! Even though they are a little different than regular sheet mask, I like how they hug the contours of the face a git better than regular sheet masks do. These are fun masks to use and they work great. For $4.00 per mask that is not too bad if used once per week. Bliss does have a deal where you can Buy 4 Get 1 Free right now.

bliss Holographic Sheet Masks are available online at, and at Target stores.  Like Bliss World on; Follow Bliss World on Twitter:@blissspa;Follow Bliss World on Pinterest: and Follow Bliss World on Instagram:

    Review: AcneFree Sensitive Skin 24 Hour Acne Clearing System #AcneFree #SensitiveSkin #24HRAcneClearingSystem #Acne #AcneicSkin

    (product photo courtesy of

Acne is often deemed a rite of passage for teenagers but it doesn't have to be. In fact, it shouldn't be. Acne is essentially when dead skin cells, sebum and bacteria clog up the pores (hair follicles) of the skin and thus blemishes form (blackheads, pustules, whiteheads, etc.). These lesions need to be dealt with before the bacteria can cause them to become infected. Also, it is not a good idea to pick at them yourself because they can become inflamed and infected even more, leaving scars that pit the face, decreasing self-esteem and causing someone to feel worse than they already are. Acne often doesn't disappear after the teenage years either. Many women, because of hormones, continue to have acne well into their 40's. Why suffer through that? Finding the right treatment for yourself is the best way to prevent and treat acne in the first place. I'm 47 and still suffer from minor acne lesions on my chin due to having an IUD contraceptive device.

AcneFree is well known for their ability to treat acne with gentle and effective kits and products. They have kits and products to meet everyone's needs. Today I will be reviewing the Sensitive Skin 24 Hour Acne Clearing System. This kit uses low doses of salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to help clear up blemishes and breakouts. The reason I wanted to try this one is because I cannot use higher doses of benzoyl peroxide, it is too drying on my skin. Salicylic acid is fine, it is a BHA (beta hydroxy acid). Not only does it help exfoliate the skin but it also helps kill bacteria. Benzoyl peroxide's main goal is to kill bacteria. It also contains ginger and oat extract to give sensitive skin the extra care it needs. This 3-step system gives sensitive skin all the care it needs to fight acne and banish breakouts and prevent new blemishes from forming without irritation.

    • CLEAN: Salicylic Acid Acne Cleanser
    • TONE: Fruit Enzyme Toner
    • TREAT: Sensitive Skin Acne Lotion
Step 1.CLEAN: The Salicylic Acid Acne Cleanser contains 1.5% salicylic acid. This gentle, deep-cleansing acne wash removes pore-clogging dirt and excess oil to help reduce existing blemishes and prevent new ones from occurring. Botanical extracts help to soothe the skin.

Step 2. TONE: This alcohol-free balancing toner is formulated with fruit enzymes for mild exfoliation. The refreshing, soothing and anti-redness formula helps balance skin tone.

Step 3. TREAT: Formulated with 3% micronized benzoyl peroxide (small enough to enter pores), this acne treatment absorbs quickly to fight breakouts throughout the day and night. It eliminates 99% of acne bacteria and provides continuous 24/7 breakout control.

It is recommended to begin the treatment regimen gradually by applying Step 3 as a spot treatment. Then build skin's tolerance by increasing usage to once every other day. Build up to twice a day, as tolerated, morning and evening, if no irritation occurs.

Here is a picture of my skin with the acne lesions before I started using the AcneFree Sensitive Skin 24 Hour Acne Clearing System

You can see how the acne was only on my chin. After using the system for a month, my skin cleared up and even the redness was gone. I prefer a sensitive skin system because of the lower level of benzoyl peroxide. The salicylic acid level is great, I think even a 2% could work here because it is such a great acne fighting medication. This product works well and works quickly. Even after 24 hours you will notice results. That is why it is called a 24 Hour Acne Clearing System. I tend to mostly get acne during the changing seasons of fall and spring for the most part though. During winter and summer it is usually under control. Unfortunately that corresponds to my vertiginous migraines! Ugh. I would recommend this product to anyone with acneic skin who has sensitive or drier skin. Even normal skin too. I would not recommend it for those with oilier skins. For those I would recommend their other kits.

The AcneFree Sensitive Skin 24 Hour Acne Clearing System can be found online at It can also be found in mass market stores like Walgreens, Rite-Aid, CVS, Walmart, Target and Ulta Beauty. Like AcneFree on Facebook:; Follow AcneFree on Instagram: and Subscribe to AcneFree on YouTube:

Review: Rimmel London Stay Satin/Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colors #RimmelLondon #StaySatinLiquidLipColor #StayMatteLiquidLipColor #LipColor

    (product photos courtesy of

Rimmel London Stay Satin/Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colors $5.49

Rimmel London's newest additions to the lip color field are Stay Satin and Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colors. Stay Satin Liquid Lip Color has high intensity color that delivers a bold satin finish in one stroke, long-lasting comfortable wear that lasts up to 8 hours and an unbelievably lightweight satin finish. It comes in 14 bold shades. Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color has high intensity color with a velvety matte finish from the very first stroke. You get bold color with just one stroke and it has impressive staying power. This is color that is kiss-proof, touch-proof and has water-proof wear. It provides a velvety matte finish. This color comes in 27 shades.

I tried five shades of the Stay Satin and 1 of the Stay Matte. The five of the Stay Satin I tried are: Sike, Shoulder Pads, It Girl, Atomic and Rad. The Stay Matte I tried is called Devotion. Sike, Shoulder Pads and It Girl are all nude pinks that look extremely similar. Atomic is a bright purple. Rad is a beautiful bright red. Devotion is a matte black. Now although it says that the Stay Matte Liquid lip color goes on with one stroke, I found this dark pigmented color took four strokes to get enough pigment to get a good enough color for a photograph and even then afterwards I looked and it still wasn't enough. I think because it is black it goes on uneven and takes so much. I seriously doubt the other colors are like this. My favorite color was Atomic. It had the most pigment and looked awesome on.

Here are swatches of the colors I tried:

above, left to right: Sike, Shoulder Pads, It Girl, Atomic, Rad and Devotion

Here are photographs of me wearing the product:

    It Girl

    Shoulder Pads

As you can see, the three colors I mentioned above look very similar to each other. Sike is the lightest, with just barely any color and is the lightest nude pink. Next is Shoulder Pads and then It Girl. Rad makes a beautiful red to wear daily to any occasion. Atomic is a fashion color that would look good on anyone who loves bright awesome colors. Devotion needs some black or dark prune lip liner under it for the best coverage. That would give it the best way to get more coverage without using too much product. Overall I really like these. They do last a long time on the lips and are very pigmented. And the price is great.

Rimmel London Stay Satin/Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colors are available at Walgreens, Rite-Aid, CVS, Target, Walmart and Ulta Beauty. Review: Wander Beauty Extended Stay Hydrating Mask #WanderBeauty #Extended Stay #HydratingMask #Mask

    (product photo courtesy of

    2.029 fl.oz./60mL $38.00
Last week I did a review of Summer Friday's Jet Lag Masque. This review is about a mask very similar to that one. It is about the Wander Beauty Extended Stay Hydrating Mask. This mask is also a long-lasting hydrating mask that can be worn and tissued off or worn overnight for all night use to give the skin a beautiful, healthy glow. I absolutely adore this mask. It brings tired skin back from the brink of gloom.

The Wander Beauty Extended Stay Hydrating Mask is a vitamin rich intensely hydrating mask that contains a blend of anti-oxidants and fruit extracts to soothe and lock in moisture. Vitamins E, B3 and B5 promote skin healing, even skin tone, and diminish signs of aging. Tea seed oil contains polypeptides that deliver potent benefits, skin soothing properties and improve the appearance of dull skin. The lightweight gel texture instantly refreshes skin without feeling sticky for leaving an oily film, instantly feels more bouncy, supple and radiant. It sinks right into the skin leaving it feeling more hydrated and better that ever. Suitable for all skin types, even acneic.

Directions: Apply a generous layer and gently massage into skin using circular motions. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water for instantly refreshed skin. Use in the morning or at night. Leave on overnight for an extended hydration and wake up to super hydrated and bouncy skin.

I prefer using the mask overnight to using it only for a few minutes. I think you get more benefits out of it that way. You definitely get better hydrated skin that way and it really works for skin that is deeply dehydrated. I would really recommend this for skin that is dry, dehydrated and mature. It not only hydrates and moisturizes but also helps brighten skin and alleviate uneven skin tone. It is a great mask to use during the winter when skin is getting whipped by wind and cold. Or during the summer if you have been sunburned. It is an extremely lightweight mask, which is why I would even recommend it for acneic skins. This mask is a lifesaver and is another notch in the crown jewel of Wander Beauty's great set of skincare wonders. It can be purchased alone or as part of the Multi-Masking Duo ($58.00).

Wander Beauty Extended Stay Hydrating Mask retails for $38.00 and can be purchased online at www.wanderbeauty.comLike Wander Beauty on Facebook:; Follow Wander Beauty on Twitter: @wander_beauty; Follow Wander Beauty on Instagram: and Subscribe to Wander Beauty on YouTube:

    Review: Summer Fridays Jet Lag Masque #SummerFridays #JetLagMasque #StressedSkin #DehydratedSkin #TiredSkin #DrySkin #Mask

    (product photo courtesy of

    2.25 oz./64g $48.00
As I mentioned yesterday when I did my review for the Overtime Masque, my skin has been completely messed up since I started using Retin A from So much that it is constantly peeling and dry yet it is leaning toward finally stabilizing. One thing that has been helping my skin is the Jet Lag Masque from Summer Fridays. Using Retin A is like attacking your skin. It will never know what hit it.

However, the Jet Lag Masque is quite the fun mask. It is for dry, dehydrated skin, overstressed skin, tired skin and all-around thirsty, stressed skin that is in need of moisture. This uber-dewy mask adds it in spades by steeping cells in a nourishing mix of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and gently exfoliating extracts. Skin looks instantly renewed, radiant and ready for anything. It doesn't contain any phthalates, parabens, synthetic dyes or fragrances, surfactants, petrolatums, BHT, BHA, or silicones. It is cruelty-free, vegan and made in the USA. Here are some of the main ingredients that help refresh the skin:
    • Chestnut Extract: activates the natural exfoliation process, polishing away dullness so skin looks radiant, healthy and well-rested (even when you're not)
    • Vitamin C: this powerful antioxidant brightens skin tone and behaves like a moisture-magnet, boosting the hydration barrier
    • Niacinamide: a naturally occurring compound of Vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid, this super ingredient visibly reduces pores, uneven skin and fine lines

There are a couple of ways to wear this mask. It can be slathered on as a regular mask, with a thin layer on cleansed, dry skin (including the under-eye area). Leave on for 10 minutes then wipe off excess with a warm cloth, no need to rinse. Or, use it as an overnight mask, apply to skin then leave on overnight. I personally use it this way. It can also be used as a primer under makeup too. Just apply a small amount onto skin under SPF. Makeup will go on like a dream and skin will look amazing all day.

Jet Lag Masque leaves skin looking and feeling like it is dewy and so hydrated that it is not at all dry. This is one of the best hydrating masks I have ever used and I would highly recommend it for skin that is dehydrated, dry, irritated or in need of a quick pick-me-up. This mask does wonders for skin and I think it works best when used as an overnight mask, because it can really seep into skin and the ingredients can work their magic overnight that way.
