Hard Candy is always on the cutting edge of fun, fabulous makeup trends. They have the coolest items in the stores. I am a big fan of theirs. Is it bad that I am 41 and am going around buying teen age makeup? This fall Hard Candy introduces new mirrored eyeshadow compacts with 10 eyeshadows, called the Top Ten. There are five different sets with 10 eyeshadows. These sets are customized to deliver any looks you want, from light and neutral to sexy, smoky and hot! The compact is covered in chic lace and includes a mirror and two applicators for applying or touch ups. These are available at Wal-Mart or www.walmart.com for $6.00. The All Glossed Up Gloss Pencil also retails for $6 at Wal-Mart and www.walmart.com.
I was lucky enough to get to try Green With Envy. In this set the first five shadows lean toward more brownish tones and the second five are green. The descriptions of the shadows are:
Warm shimmery taupe, shimmery pink bronze, shimmery warm bronze-olive, deep shimmery eggplant, shimmery olive, cool medium green shimmer , glittery cool green, cool forest green shimmer, deep forest green shimmer, cool bronze-green.
In the look below I used warm bronze-olive in the crease. I took the forest green and used in on the outer edge of the lid and under the eye. On the lid I used the medium green shimmer and blended up in the crease. I used the warm taupe under the brow. Hard Candy’s Walk The Line liquid liner in turquoise was used to line the upper lid. 1000 Lashes mascara by Hard Candy in Mermaid Teal (great green color) added a great pop on the lashes, both on top and bottom. For the cheeks, I used Hard Candy’s Blush Crush Baked Blush in Honeymoon (shimmery pink). Finally, on my lips I used All Glossed Up Shockingly Glossy Lip Pencil in Chic (nude beige). There are twelve shades in this line. They can be mixed together to create other shades and there are glitters, pearls and glossy sheer shades.
What is the verdict on these products? The eyeshadow compact is adorable and a good value. I really like the colors, they create a great smoky eye. They also have very good pigmentation. There is some fallout, but that is common with eyeshadow that are this shimmery. The shadows are soft, not hard at all. Hard Candy always makes good products, coming from way back in the day! If you go into the store you will see the other colors in this mirrored compact the pinks, neutrals, blues and the greens that I showed you here. The All Glossed Up pencil is one of the first gloss pencils I can truly say I really like. Why? Because it is not too glossy! It is kind of just right. It goes on nice and has more of a sheer and satin finish. I’m going to carry this in my purse for touch ups. I think these are great products for the price and I am going to be heading to my local Wal-Mart very soon to purchase more of these!
