Urban Decay always comes out with some amazing eye shadow palettes for the Holiday season. This year is not a disappointment. The Vice 2 Eye Shadow Palette is so nice! It is filled with 20 BRAND NEW eye shadows and a double-ended Good Karma eye shadow brush!!!!!!!!!! The eye shadows range from gorgeous neutrals to insane bright shades. You can make a super smoky eye, a nice nude one or a crazy bright eye. The formula is so luxurious. Each eye shadow is awesome. I mean lovely and just as good as their regular formulas. I am so excited about this palette and I think you should be too! Below you will see swatches and a couple of looks I did.
The Shadows:
Almost all of the eye shadows are very pigmented. I am extremely happy about that. The only one I didn’t like was Habit, it was not as pigmented as the others. But, if I am saying that 1 out of 20 eye shadows is not as good as the others, then that is not really a problem! These are also buttery, soft and go on nicely. Another thing I am happy about is that even though the shadows are very soft they have very little fallout. A huge plus! The matte shades are soft and creamy, which is a plus. I like that when I apply the eye shadows, they don’t fade too. Many brands have the problem that when applied, the color fades and you end up with half the pigment that you wanted. Urban Decay eye shadow are not like that at all. When UD makes a palette they make sure to have a formula that lasts on the eye. I apply the eye shadows with the new Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($24.00), which is so amazing. Love this so much. It prevents any eye shadow from looking crepey on the lid!!!! It also actually turns back the clock and helps to erase fine lines. How great is that? Urban Decay eye shadows are really just about some of the best in the beauty industry right now.
(first and second rows)
(third and fourth rows)
The eye shadows are as follows:
First Row: Smokeout (dark charcoal-black satin), Lovesick (black matte with iridescent glitter), Shellshock (bright metallic silver), Coax (medium metallic pink with golden iridescent sparkle), X-Rated (baby pink satin).
Second Row: Prank (deep navy matte with turquoise floating pearl), Madness (bright metallic blue shimmer with blue glitter), Strike (antique gold shimmer with silver glitter), Stash (deep olive green shimmer with iridescent sparkle), Poison (charcoal satin with iridescent sparkle)'.
Third Row: Radar (metallic brown shimmer with iridescent glitter), Damaged (bright metallic emerald shimmer), Voodoo (metallic purple shimmer with iridescent purple glitter), Betrayal (bright purple satin with blue shift), Derailed (medium metallic taupe-brown shimmer).
Fourth Row: Dope (warm champagne satin), Toxic (metallic copper-pink shimmer with glitter), Habit (light nude matte), Ambush (metallic brown satin) and Rewind (medium brown matte).
Looks With Vice 2 Palette:
This look was an all UD look today: Naked Skin 1.0 foundation, from the Vice 2 palette I used Rewind in the crease, then Smokeout under that to deepen it and make it look like I had deep set eyes. On the outer edge of the lid I used Derailed and I used it to line under my eye. I used Shellshock on my lid to give it the metallic look. Then Dope under the brow. I lined my eyes with Black Market 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil from the Black Market Eye Pencil Set ($36.00). I used a MAC mascara on my lashes. On my cheeks I used Naked Flushed ($30.00) and Naked Revolution lipstick on my lips ($22.00).
For this second look, I used just UD on the eyes. This look is gorgeous I think! I used Ambush in the crease, then Radar on the outer edge of the lid and under the eye to line. I used Betrayal on the lid and blended up. Under my brow I used Dope. I love Betrayal, it is a gorgeous shadow.
I adore this palette. I think that you should consider purchasing this palette as a gift this year for your makeup junkie friend, mother or mostly yourself. It kicks butt! This review is completely on my own and I purchased this palette. The Vice 2 Eye Shadow Palette is $59.00 and is pricey but is worth every penny. It is available at www.urbandecay.com, www.sephora.com, www.ulta.com and SEPHORA Ulta and Macy’s stores.
