The Merle Norman Summer color collection, Get Into A Summer State Of Mind, takes you on a journey that is a little different than most summer color collections. Instead of the usual totally bronze colors, they are offering up some light and airy colors that are playful and fun. With an Eye Color Trio named Wit and Whimsy in shades of gray and silver, you know it is going to be different. I was able to try out these shadows and an eyeliner in Teal, as well as a lip liner, lipstick and a lip gloss.
The Get Into A Summer State Of Mind collection consists of the following:
- Wit and Whimsy* eye shadow trio (Bare It All semi-matte pink, Surely luminous silver and Stormy matte gray)
- Charmed I’m Sure* eye shadow trio (Hopeful matte pink, Too Sweet luminous copper and Let’s Play semi-matte bronze).
- Soft Touch Eye Pencil in Teal* (bright blue green)
- Lasting Cheekcolor in A Little Famous* (bright pink)
- Lip Pencil in Hide and Seek (light nude brown),
- Age Defying Lipcolor in Poised* (luminous nude brown),
- Creamy Lipcolor in Pinkerbell* (creamy pink)
- Lip Glaze in Bare Kisses* (creamy nude pink)
- Lip Polish in Daydream* (luminous shimmery silver pink).
All items with a asterisk are limited edition.

For this look I used the Wit and Whimsy Eye Color Trio and used the Bare It All Shade in the crease and the Stormy gray shade in the on the outer 1/3 of the upper lid and under the eye. I also used a little bit of Stormy in the crease to deepen it. I took Surely and used it on the lid. I did not use any shade under the brow. I used the Teal liner on the top of my lid to line and also under the lid to line the lower lid. On my lips I lined with Hide and Seek very lightly. I took Poised and used it on my lips followed by a nice touch of Daydream lip Polish.

On the Merle Norman website there is a .PDF with a number of different looks for you to do and follow. I think this collection is a nice departure from the usual Summer color stories that come out every year. I think that it is fun and playful.
