Fall 2014 Makeup Trends… #makeup trends #fall2014 #fall2014makeuptrends #beauty

This Fall/Autumn 2014 makeup is going rich with shades of plum and burgundy. Most of the cosmetic companies are coming out with shades of intense plums, burgundy and hunter green. Fall is always dark and rich and this season is no exception.

rainforest after dark colored clay eye and cheek palette

Rainforest After Dark Limited-Edition Colored Clay Eye & Cheek Palette $38.00: this palette has six eye shadows, one blush, a highlighter and their infamous contouring bronzer. Part of a whole collection, the colors are rich and pigmented, lovely and they stay on quite well. I use this with the new Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick ($21.00). I love the plum shades interspersed with the gold, which complement each other quite well. You can do so many different looks with this palette. I have blue-green eyes and this palette really helps to bring out the green in my eyes, as purple is the complement to green on the color wheel. The blush (Unleashed) is a deep cool pink shade and looks great on my pale skin. Five of the six shades in this palette are matte, with the gold shade being the only shimmer. That is okay. Matte is still in this fall and shimmers are always in style. This is tarte’s best palette to date!

Too Faced Cosmetics

cat eyes palette

Cat Eyes Ferociously Feminine Eye Shadow & Liner Collection $36.00: nine eye shadows rich in color that go on smoothly, stay on all day long, blending like a dream. Too Faced always has a great collection every season and this Fall is no exception. In fact, this season they have three new palettes out. The Cat Eyes palette is just the prettiest of all three in my opinion. The other two, Country and Rock n’ Roll have great shades too. The Rock n’ Roll palette also has some great shades that work well with this fall’s burgundy and plum shades. What I love most about these palettes is the looks you can get with them. The shades mix and match so well that there are innumerous looks available with each palette. Well worth the money.

NARS

Night Caller Collection: In this collection Francois Nars introduces two new eye shadow duos, a new blush, two new satin lip pencils and several new Night Series Eyeliners. I love the shades of the eye shadow duos. NARS always has great colors. They are Avant garde and look killer on the face. Jardin Perdu ($35.00) (lost garden) is a beautiful purple and silver duo that looks gorgeous on green eyes. Dolomites duo also brings out green eyes but is great for any other eye color too with its burgundy and pink shades. Unlawful blush ($30.00) is amber with silver pearl, and is the perfect complement to the eye shadow shades, I was not as happy with the Night Series ($24.00) liner that I received, as it broke off easily and is hard to sharpen back into an wearable shape. Also in the collection are two Satin Lip Pencils, Bansar and Mandore.

Pulp Fiction Collection: Yes, it has been 20 years since the release of the cult classic film Pulp Fiction! To mark this momentous anniversary, Urban Decay has come out with a nice little capsule collection commemorating the release. The Pulp Fiction palette ($34.00) has four eye shadows, one of which is a dual eye shadow. It comes with a brush and is designed to be able to recreate the look of Uma Thurman’s character Mia Wallace.  The shades in this palette are variations on brown with a white and a black thrown in for good measure so that you can create a gorgeous deep, dark line or a deep dark look on the face. There is also a Pulp Fiction Revolution lipstick ($22.00), Pulp Fiction Nail Color ($15.00) and a Pulp Fiction 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil ($20.00). These latter three are a beautiful red that are not for the faint of heart. These shades are gorgeous on and are the perfect red for those looking for a red lipstick that has spunk.

Sensual Reflections: This collection consists of rich burgundy shades interspersed with shades of hunter green and ivy. The Satin Matte Eye Color ($24.00) comes in Tempting Green. The Cheek Melange ($42.00) consists of a number of shades that you can swirl together to get a gorgeous glow on your face. Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Cocoa is a dark rich brown that will look gorgeous on just about anyone. It also comes in Plumberry and Sienna. Plumberry is a beautiful plum and Sienna is a dark rich burgundy. Lip Glace ($25.00) comes in Desire (burgundy with blue shift) and Bare Blush (light nude pink with shimmer). Crème Eye Liner ($23.00) comes in Ivy (dark ivy green) and Espresso (dark rich chocolate brown).

These are just a few of the collections that I have tried so far and loved. As more collections come my way I will share them with you!

Until Next Time~
