As seen in the New York Times article, makeup artists are thinking outside of the “kit” and throwing typical applications methods out the door in favor of using products in a more innovative way.
Take a cue from the following Fall 2014 runway shows, whose lead makeup artists used products in an unconventional way to achieve the models’ flawless looks.
· At the Jenny Packham Fall/Winter 2014 Runway Show, Talia Shobrook for Laura Mercier used multiple products in unique ways:
o To sculpt the models’ cheeks, she applied Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Smoky Topaz, $24 and then ever so subtly exaggerated the cheekbone using the same shadow
o To complete the eye look, Shobrook applied Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Radiance, $33 on top of the eye shadow and in the corners of the eyes to create a glowing, glossy lid
· At the Band Of Outsiders Fall/Winter 2014 show, Shiseido’s Artistic Director Dick Page used the brown Shiseido Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil, $20 to create a defined/distinct liner around the lips.
Until Next Time~
