Review: Emjoi EpiSlim e18 Hair Remover #EpiSlim #Emjoi

emjoi epi slime e18Many years ago the Emjoi Epilator came out and took the hair removal world by storm. It was great because it removed hair by the root and results lasted weeks at a time. I purchased one and used it many, many times. My only qualm with it was that it was a little painful, but that is to be expected any time hair is removed by the roots!
Recently I was able to try out the new Emjoi EpiSlim e18 hair removal tool. This new product is for areas such as the face, underarms and bikini area. It promises to removes hair by the root while minimizing discomfort and providing long-lasting results. The compact design features 18 of the same patented 3-disc tweezers that have made Emjoi products the go-to choice for removing unwanted hair, even as short as 0.3 mm! After hair is removed it lasts up to 6 weeks. The eRase glide technology provides disc opening at an optimal 14 mm and operates at 540 strokes per second, allowing for a smooth gliding motion that goes back and forth for hair free skin in seconds. This also allows for the majority of the hair to be removed at the first pass, keeping skin irritation to a minimum. What is nice is that this tool is great for travel too! It can be a great item to give as a gift or can be purchased for oneself. It is also battery operated, requiring two AA-batteries that are not included.

I tried out the Emjoi EpiSlim e18 for myself to see how well it performs. I wanted to get a good idea so I used it on all three areas that it is recommended: the face, underarms and bikini. Let me preface the results with this: it is not completely pain-free. When removing hair by the roots there will always be some discomfort but it depends on how thick the hair is and how much pain the person can handle. Personally I can handle some of this discomfort in some areas. I am used to waxing so I am familiar with the pain. I tried it first on my upper lip, and found that it did remove the thicker hairs quite well right away but it took a couple of passes to get the white, almost invisible hairs that were harder to see. There was very little discomfort as I am used to waxing my upper lip. Then I tried it out on my underarms. I am lucky in that I don’t have very much hair there. I had let it grow out there, which believe me was hard to do! The discomfort there was more difficult as I do not wax that area but shave it instead. The hairs came out very easily with the tool. Finally, I did the bikini area and found that the hairs did not come out right away but took a few passes. That is likely due to the fact that the hair there is thicker. The discomfort level was also more intense. I don’t wax there but usually shave that area. All in all, the Emjoi EpiSlim e18 was a good hair removal tool that I can see myself using. I think that I would use it more on my face than other areas, as the discomfort was minimal there. The hair was removed and discomfort was not too painful, which is what you want in a hair removal tool.

The Emjoi EpiSlim e18 retails for $34.95 and is available from www.emjoi.com. It is available now online and makes a great gift idea. You can also see the review I did on the Emjoi Micro-Pedi Nano Callus Remover (http://bit.ly/1zmhauU).
