We got this to help my got learn some tricks. We were wondering if this would be more condusive to training rather than treats. My daughter has been training our 4 year old male neutered Yorkshire Terrier, who is stubborn. Very stubborn. She has been working with him and has already taught him him how to sit, twirl and bark on command with treats. So she tries the whistle and it does not work as well for her. She did some research on the internet for whistle training. My daughter is only 14 mind you and has taken on the training all by herself. She worked with him using the whistle instead of the treats but found that he did not want to work for the whistle since he had been used to the treats. So I advise you to start with a whistle first off then if it does not work, try the treat way. Treats will always work. They love anything that will give them food! Sorry but it did not work out for us and it is not really the whistle’s fault.
