Jessica Simpson is a powerhouse. She is a fashion designer, entertainment and style icon. In ten years she has managed to make a billion dollars with her fashion and fragrance lines. Jessica Simpson TEN celebrates her success in these endeavors. TEN is part of a limited edition capsule collection to commemorate the tenth anniversary of her eponymous billion-dollar fashion and lifestyle empire. It is inspired by her success as a businesswoman over the past decade.
To develop this new scent she collaborated with perfumer Marypiere Julien, of Givaudan, to create the complex new fragrance. This fragrance is a way of sharing her down-to-earth way of connecting with all women, making them feel confident in exactly who they are. It contains top notes that are fruity notes of clementine, starfruit, nectarine, plum and watery fruits. The body of the fragrance has powerful floral bouquets of frangipani, night blooming jasmine, orange flower and tiger lily. Its base is vanilla, white chocolate bean accord, sandalwood, tonka bean and driftwood. The base provides a sophisticated and feminine undertone to the scent.
The bottle for TEN radiates with accents of shimmering gold while the packaging is inspired by a bohemian sensibility with craft paper detailing, mirroring the tenth anniversary theme. A single, elegant matte white feather grace the top of the bottle, a symbol of the brand’s free spirited style. It represents truth, lightness and is symbolic to Jessica Simpson. It has become an icon that she is carrying throughout the collection.
I love how light the scent is. For a floral it is truly not heavy or too floral in nature. The fruity top notes balance it out so that it is light and then the dry down is the body of the fragrance, which are the floral notes and then the base of the scent, which are the heavier notes that are more woody in nature. All in all, this fragrance is sophisticated. However, it is wearable for every woman, every day.
Jessica Simpson TEN will be available online and in stores for $67.00 (3.4 fl.oz./100 mL) at Macy’s, Dillard’s, Belk and other fine retailers nationwide starting in September 2015.
