Mellisa B Naturally came into existence when Mellisa found her passion in skincare after years in the fitness and dance industries. This line is different because it has advanced cosmeceuticals with the best plant and fruit extracts in it. Natural skincare with advanced science standing behind it. The line is free from harmful ingredients like GMOs, sulfates, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, sodium laural sulfate, gluten, petrolatum, and silicone. Below is a review of the six products I tried from the line. There are a couple more available that I did not try, such as a cleanser and a shimmering face and body primer.
Microdermabrasion Scrub 1.0 oz./30 g $24.00
This Microdermabrasion Scrub is a little bit different than most scrubs I have encountered. It looks similar to a mask, as it has kaolin in it. It has ingredients in it that naturally polish and purify the skin, leaving it feeling and looking refreshed. Skin looks glowing. It is definitely invigorating. This scrub exfoliates the skin, renews it and nourishes it all with natural ingredients that polish and purify the skin. Sustainably harvested Ecuadorian Ivory Palm Seed Powder is used to provide the polishing action in the scrub while Binchotan White Charcoal Powder helps to draw out impurities from the pores. The scrub also contains charcoal which will draws out impurities from the skin too. Hyaluronic Acid helps to keep skin hydrated, so as not to dry it out.
To use: Apply to a wet face with warm water. Put scrub in palm and add a few drops of warm water. Massage into face, neck and chest. Rinse with warm water; finish with a splash of cold water. This could definitely
also be used as a mask too. I would just apply to the skin then wet and
massage with warm water after it sits for a while.
Pumpkin & Coconut Exfoliating Mask 1.0 oz./30 mL $24.00
This is definitely the yummiest smelling mask I have ever used. It is listed as exhilarating, like a "breath of fresh air" for your skin. Gentle cleansers are combined with rich, nourishing oils to leave skin feeling soft, clean and fresh. Skin is rejuvenated, all naturally. Exfoliate and hydrate skin for smoother, youthful looking skin. Superfoods like Coconut Oil and Pumpkin keep skin clean and nourished. It exfoliates dead skin cells as it hydrates. Kaolin cleans pores, while Ecuadorian Ivory Palm
Seed Powder provides a polishing effect. The mask also contains Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Ferment extract that gently softens and smoothes skin, which leaves skin glowing and looking radiant.
To use: Wet face, neck and check area with warm water. Using clean hands apply mask in a massaging motion. Leave on for 15 minutes. Remove with warm water.
Skin is soft, clean and hydrated. It is also exfoliated and smooth. This mask leaves skin feeling like new.
Tri Potency Peptide Serum 1 fl.oz./30 mL $35.00
This serum combines potent peptides, firming agents and key proteins to strengthen the skin naturally, this helps you look and feel younger and more beautiful. More revitalized. Peptides are the anti-aging super agents that are the keys to looking younger quicker. The peptides in this serum, Argireline and Syn-Coll, help maintain a youthful appearance. They target the visible signs of aging: fine lines, wrinkles, loss of skin firmness, and overall loss of even skin tone. These peptides improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and smooth
and rejuvenate the skin. It also has DMAE, which helps increase skin firmness, while
vegetable collagen and hydrolyzed elastin can boost skin’s resilience.
This is a great serum. It has good anti-aging ingredients in it. After a month's use I can say it made my skin look and feel better, younger. Use day and night. Make sure if you are using it during the day to use a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher after applying.
Pack Your Bags with Caffeine 1/2 oz./ 15 g $30.00
This eye cream is full of powerful anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatories and moisturizers. It sends fine lines, sagging skin, puffiness and dark circles packing. Be bright eyed and bushy tailed again! Protect and soothe your delicate eye area. Caffeine and soothing agents purge and minimize under eye puffiness. Horse Chestnut extract, Rose Hips extract and CoQ10 encourages
circulation, also reducing the appearance of dark circles and fine lines.
To use: Apply using a clean makeup sponge or your ring finger. Apply under and on the sides of the eyes with a gentle tapping motion. This also improves the circulation around the eye. Do not rub the delicate skin around the eye area.
I love this eye cream. It really helped to get rid of and keep my dark circles at bay. It also helped get rid of this little tiny line that was developing under one of my eyes. Definitely happy with this.
Premium Moisturizing Cream 1.0 oz./30 g $42.00
Purely Moisturizing Cream is just that, a super moisturizer from their siganuture series that quenches your skin's thirst. It has rich, natural emollients and powerful peptides to nourish and beautify the skin. Skin will look radiant, naturally. Moisturize properly for skin that looks better now and in the future. Peptides and rich moisturizers will make skin look and feel its best. The most potent peptides, Argireline and
Progeline, combat the visible signs of aging. DMAE helps increase skin's firmness. After a few weeks of use your skin will look and feel younger. It will not be as dry as it once was. It will be softer, more nourished and it will have the signs of aging diminished.
I would recommend this for more mature skins, drier skins and those who have signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles and loss of even skin tone. It is definitely a winner for those with mature skin. Use day or night. Apply to face and neck, behind ears and all the way down to the chest. Be sure to follow with a SPF 30 or more if used during the day.
Moisturize and More 1 oz./30 g $30.00
Moisturize and More is also a rich moisturizer. The difference is that it contains collagen and hyaluronic acid as its main ingredient base. It has rich moisturizers, skin "superfoods" and anti-oxidant to help provide a healthy "diet" for your skin. Skin will look vibrant more naturally. Hydrate and nourish the skin to preserve your complexion. The natural ingredients in this moisturizer moisturize, soothe and restore the skin to its more natural state. It will look more vibrant. The superior moisture is supplied by Argan Oil, Shea Butter and Hyaluronic Acid. It also has amino acids from Manuka Honey to help help clear up dead skin cells, which help keep the pores clear. Vegetable collagen and DMAE help to maintain skin's youthful appearance.
This moisturizer is best for those with combination to normal and dry skins. It can be used day or night. Under makeup or alone. Apply to the entire face, neck, behind the ears and down the chest area. Make sure to use a SPF 30 or more if used during the day.
All in all, I liked this cream too. It's not as heavy as the Premium Moisturizing Cream, so it works for more skin types. It is an anti-aging skin cream. And it is natural. Like all of the Mellisa B Naturally products.
The Mellisa Be Naturally Skincare line is a good natural skincare line. From the products I tried, I was very impressed with the line. I really liked the Pumpkin & Coconut Exfoliating Mask, the Tri Potency Peptide Serum and the Pack Your Bags with Caffeine eye cream. The line contains the finest plant and fruit extracts, cosmeceuticals available on the market. They take care in putting together products that will work but are not going to harm your skin.
