Sometimes you find that you need a little something that helps you sleep and something to pick you up in the beauty department. You know what I mean...a supplement that gives you lustrous hair, skin and nails. There are certain minerals available to supplements that will do this sort of thing.

I was lucky enough to test a couple of them out because I too needed a pick me up and something to help my awful insomnia. I have been suffering from insomnia off and on my entire life. It has reared its ugly head again starting in August. I have only been sleeping 3-4 hours a night and needed something that would put me out for the night.

Dream Water Beauty Shot contains the following:
  • Sodium 55mg
  • Sleep Stat: 150 mg
    • GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric Acid)
    • L 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP)
    • Melatonin
  • Bamboo Silica 70% (Bamboo vulgaris) whole plant extract 100 mg
  • Hyaluronic acid 35 mg
  • Biotin 5,000 mcg
  • Choline (as Choline Bitartrate) 10 mg
  • Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid) 20 mg
  • Juvecol (proprietary proteoglycan) 25 mg
Here is an explanation of the SleepStat ingredients listed above:
GABA can help you relax and reduces anxiety by blocking the transmission of impulses from one cell to another cell in the central nervous system. Melatonin helps to govern the body’s 'internal clock' that regulates your natural cycle of sleeping and waking. 5-HTP, can help promote sleep and relaxation, and it can also improve the quality of sleep by stimulating the production of melatonin in the body.

How does one go about getting better sleep?
  • Discontinue using caffeine after the morning
  • Keep a regular schedule
  • Avoid alcohol, excessive eating and nicotine before bedtime
  • Avoid daytime naps
  • Finish exercising 2-3 hours before bed
  • Take a hot shower or bath before bed
  • Reduce TV or light exposure before bed'
  • Keep your sleep environment dark and cool
  • Listen to calming music or other soothing sounds
  • Finally, enjoy a Dream Water
I have weird habits. I have to have the TV on for me to be able to go to sleep. Which actually contradicts everything here. But I actually love to have my sleeping area nice and cool. I like to keep warm by having a few blankets and keeping the heat down. In summer I need air conditioning on. Dream Water is perfect for when you are having trouble sleeping, cannot get to sleep at all or are like me and are an insomniac. Normally I do not respond well to Melatonin, but the Dream Water Beauty Shot did the trick for me. I think it was with all of the other ingredients combined into the SleepStat blend. Did you know that 1 in 3 adults do not get enough sleep?

This product did put me to sleep though and in record time, it only takes about 30 minutes to work and you are off to dreamland. I am very happy with it. The first time I tasted it, the product had a funny aftertaste but I never noticed it after the first time. I think it was just something I had never tasted before. It tastes pretty good. The product goes down quickly and you end up getting sleep pretty fast. I must say I have never had much luck with melatonin until this.

Dream Water Beauty Shot is not only for sleep. It has ingredients that help your hair, skin and nails too. This is why I love it. The Biotin, Bamboo Silica, Hyaluronic Acid, Choline, Vitamin C and Juvecol are all ingredients that help make you look terrific. Biotin helps the hair and nails grow while making the skin shed its cells quicker so that it looks younger. It does not however make the nails harder. I have very soft nails and have taken Biotin many times and have never seen results that show it hardens nails. Bamboo silica helps maintain the integrity and health of the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant that pulls moisture into the skin, and it actually holds 1,000 times its own weight in water. Choline is one of the B vitamins and many people are often deficient in it. It helps with cell structure and therefore can help keep wrinkles at bay and in forming collagen. Vitamin C in the form of Ascorbic Acid is the best form of Vitamin C and is great for skin structure and in forming collagen. Juvecol helps to make connective tissue such as collagen and elastin. The reason you want to make collagen and also elastin is because that is the actual structure of the skin. When you lose collagen and also elastin, you lose the structure of the skin and it becomes wrinkled and saggy. All of these ingredients combined with the sleep ingredients makes for one great 0-Calorie Sleep Shot!

5 pack/$6.99
10 pack/$10.49
30 pack/$24.49

Also available are little packets of powder with just the essential SleepStat proprietary blend. They are called Dream Water Sleep Powder packets. You do not need water to take them, although I do think water is needed because the powder is kind of dry and it helps get it down. But they taste fabulous. These packets have about 10 calories to them because they contain fructose and dextrose. I like them and have just as good luck getting to sleep with these as I do with the Dream Water Beaut Shot bottles. I prefer the other though because I get the added beauty benefits.

These are definitely something you should look into if you are having trouble sleeping or even if you are not but want to look better on the outside and just have a little bit of trouble going to sleep. I definitely noticed benefits to the addition of the beauty supplement.

Here is what I look like after a month of using the supplement:
