This is my final installment about sunscreens. It is going to refer to Banana Boat Sport Sunscreens. These are a bit more for those who like to do things that require a lot more activity in the water or who perspire more. That is where the "sport" comes in.
Banana Boat Simply Protect Sport Sunscreen Spray SPF50is an extremely lightweight spray sunscreen that has broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and that is water and sweat resistant which lasts for 80 minutes in the water. It contains 25% fewer ingredients* and is made without oxybenzone, parabens, added oils or fragrances. The ingredients that help make up the sunscreen in this product are:
All of this this ads up to SPF50. All of these ingredients are very good chemical sunscreen ingredients. It is the oxybenzone that people are concerned about because it may cause cancer and it is causing death to the ocean reefs. What is so nice about this spray is that it dries immediately on the skin. This sunscreen was designed for those that lead a more active lifestyle. It is easy to spray on and stays on in 7 conditions: sun, pool, water, ocean water, wind, perspiration, sand and even 100 degree heat**. Also, it has been recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation to protect against the sun's harmful ray's. (**By number vs. Banana Boat® Sport Lotion Sunscreen SPF 50+; **7 conditions does not apply to tanning or oil products, SPF 100 lotions, lip balms, Kids FREE and Zinc Faces)
I like this sunscreen a lot because it is easy to use, dries very quickly. It stays on in water and while you perspire. It does have to be reapplied every 2 hours like any sunscreen. And if you get wet then reapply after 80 minutes in the water. Make sure to apply 15 minutes prior to going out in the sun. That way the sunscreen has time to metabolize with your skin. Spending any amount of time in the sun increases your risk for skin cancer and early skin aging (photoaging), therefore it is recommended that you use a SPF30 or higher to decrease or eliminate this risk altogether.
