Foundation is the base of your makeup. It covers flaws and imperfections. It lays down a canvas for your makeup, like gesso does for artists on their canvas. Foundation leaves skin looking lovely, better than it did prior to wearing nothing at all. I consider myself to be something of a foundation expert. I have to be because it is so darn hard to find foundations in my shade. It is getting easier, I must admit, now that companies are paying attention and making shades lighter and darker than they used to.
Today I am going to talk about Urban Decay's most popular foundation, their Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup. This foundation comes in 26 shades, with the lightest being 0.5 to the darkest being 13.0. I wear 0.5 of course and it is a pretty good match for me. This foundation formula blurs imperfection for a flawless finish that feels invisible, but looks professionally retouched. It feels like you are not wearing anything yet this foundation transforms your complexion. Skin looks natural, illuminated and bright with a luminous demi-matte look. Just like the beautiful skin you were born with. Light-diffusing spheres provide a visible reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blurring imperfections for beautifully perfected, ultra definition skin that looks completely real.
In clinical studies, immediately after using Naked Skin Liquid Makeup:
- 100% of participants had a measurable improvement in the appearance of skin imperfections.
- 96% had a measurable improvement in skin radiance
- 90% had a measurable improvement in skin firmness.
- 93% had a measurable improvement in the appearance of fine lines.
Naked Skin Liquid Makeup provides truly buildable coverage that starts out as medium coverage with a weightless feel and a luminous finish. And it’s loaded with nourishing ingredients, including: Matrixyl 3000 (a powerful anti-wrinkle peptide), protective and brightening Litchiderm™, antioxidant green tea, and sodium hyaluronate for optimal skin hydration and nutrient absorption. The sleek, hygienic pump provides more control, with less waste of product. This foundation is oil-free and paraben-free. Of course it is cruelty-free.
Naked Skin Liquid Makeup comes in a range of meticulously calibrated shades. And Urban Decay's precise shade numbering system makes it easy to find your perfect match.
Shades ending in:
.0 have warm undertones
.25 have neutral undertones
.5 have pink undertones
.75 have golden undertones

Because I wear 0.5 that is a pink undertone but actually my skin is more neutral but the other shades are too dark for me. However, this shade does not actually look pink in the bottle it looks more yellow to neutral. The nearest neutral undertone doesn't come in until level 3. I think that is a sin because plenty of light toned women have neutral undertones to their skin. I love this foundation though. It is a great foundation. It has buildable coverage, which starts out as medium coverage and can be built up to heavier coverage as needed. I also like that this can be mixed with The Velvetizer Translucent Mix-In Medium to add more coverage and make the foundation matte. There is also a concealer that you can purchase and use.
