Holiday Gift Guide 2018: Salonpas Pain Relief Patch

The holidays may not seem like the right time to give this time of gift, but if you know someone who suffers back pain, like I do, then think again. The Salonpas Pain Relief Patch would make an excellent stocking stuffer for an adult. These are all new Extra Large Double Size Patches. 

They come in a value pack of 9 patches per pack and the patches are 3" X 5" (10 cm X 14 cm). They contain Menthol 3%, Methyl Salicylate 10% both are topical analgesics and are FDA approved for over-the-counter (OTC) use as a non-prescription pain relieving patch. Their effectiveness has been proven in clinical trials. These patches are great for relieving pain such as backaches, sore muscles, sprains and bruises. They are also great for arthritis sufferers. And believe me, I suffer from arthritis, I know that these work for it well. Salonpas Pain Relief Patches last about 8-12 hours. Yes, that long. That is why I am recommending them. They are helpful in situations where you do not want to take an opioid or any other stronger NSAID analgesic. 

You do have to be careful with these. These are not to be used by people who have had stomach bleeding. Since it does contain an NSAID. Talk to your physician first. These are not to be used with a heating pad, on the face or with a rash (such as with shingles), on wounds or damaged skin, when sweating (from exercise or heat), if allergic to aspirin or other NSAIDs and right before or after heart surgery. Please ask a physician before using if you are allergic to topical products, if you are on a diuretic, the stomach bleeding warning applies to you, you have high blood pressure, heart disease or kidney disease. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your physician first before using. 

To use: apply to clean dry skin. Apply one patch to the affected area and leave in place for up to 8-12 hours. If pain lasts after using the first patch, a second patch may be applied for u to any 8-12 hours. Do not use more than 2 patches in a 24 hour period. Do not for than 3 days in a row. The used patch should be removed from the skin when a new one is applied (yes, that seems like common sense). 

I have 4 fused vertebrae in my lumbar spine. I still have pain even though my surgery was for all intents a success. I had about a 50% success rate. Which is good. But I still have other herniated discs in my thoracic and cervical spines too. So these patches come in handy when my back is acting up. A heating pad is usually what I use but when I am out of the house, I cannot use a heating pad. So I use a Salonpas Pain Relief Patch and let it stay on as long as possible. I still take my pain pills because I also have neuropathy from a nerve tumor too. I give the Salonpas Pain Relief Patch an A+ for pain relief and for convenience. 

So get this as a gift for anyone who suffers from pain. I guarantee they will thank you for it. Trust me. Anyone who suffers from pain, will definitely give you a hug and a kiss for thinking about their pain. Often people with pain are forgotten about or we get taken for granted.
