I was born with thick, medium, slightly wavy hair. Just wavy enough to be annoying but not wavy enough to make it look good. So, I depend on hair styling products to be work horses for my hair because I need to reduce the frizz from a lack of moisture in my hair. My hair and scalp are always dry.
Recently I received a tube of amika supernova moisture and shine cream in my BoxyCharm box for February. That was just about the highlight of the whole box to me, but that is better left for a rant. Anyway, I tried the cream on my hair and and it made it immediately shiny, softer and smelled amazing. It also did add moisture to my hair where there was none before. supernova is a weightless leave-in cream that helps provide superior hydration and lightweight-conditioning, leaving hair supernaturally soft and smooth with brilliant shine. And it does.
This product is safe for color treated hair, is gluten-free, mineral oil free, cruelty-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, petrolatum-free and doesn't contain any artificial colors. It does however, contain butylene glycol with is an organic alcohol primarily used in skincare products as a humectant and slip agent. It helps to boost hair's moisture while providing a silky, smooth texture. Sodium Cocoyl Amino Acids help restore shine and smoothness to hair making it look and feel healthy again. Sea Buckthorn Oil is rich in Vitamins A and C, antioxidants and healthy Omega Fatty Acids including the essential Omega-7.
To use, distribute throughout damp hair and style as usual. Can also be used on dry hair to tame flyaways or refresh dry ends. That is mainly how I use it. I prefer to use it on hair that is dry and in need of some softening cream that adds moisture.
