In 2003, scientists began a project that would change the world. From inside Berkeley labs, they developed patented technology that allowed their scientists to create an accessible cure for malaria. Today, over 120 million royalty-free treatments have been successfully given thanks to this technology. Inspired to continue using innovative biotechnology to make a positive impact on the world, they turned to skincare, and the ingredients people put on their faces and bodies every day. Drawing on the rich history of science and sustainability, they create skincare that is incredibly effective and safe without harming the environment or animals. Because the products you use make a difference for your health and the health of the planet.

BIOSSANCE Squalane + Tea Tree Balancing Oil
1.01 fl.oz./30mL $49.00
Squalane, the ingredient found in every Biossance product, is produced in the human body as squalene. But the amount made and retained decreases as you get older. Biossance found a way to produce squalane as safely and effectively as the body does. Their squalane comes from 100% plant-based, renewable sugarcane, then bio-fermented to create a beautiful end result, highly stable, totally sustainable and eco-friendly squalane. Squalane is the skin’s best moisturizer that is suitable for all skin types.
This product was designed for oily/combination, acne-prone skin by helping control excess oil. It is a weightless balancing facial oil with the power of tea tree oil to help reduce the appearance of blemishes, enlarged pores and other imperfections. With squalane to boost the performance of tea tree and restore hydration to skin depleted by harsh products. Their squalane oil for acne-prone skin is enriched with tea tree that originates from Australia and is grown with the highest quality eco-friendly farming practices that meet ISO standards.
- It balances oil on the skin by maintaining moisture. It calms the look of blemishes and congestion without over-drying skin, this oil is a clean, gentle alternative to harsh products, and promotes a healthy-looking, balanced complexion. This squalane oil for acne-prone skin is for external use only. Use only as directed. Avoid eye area. We recommend a patch test prior to use if you are particularly sensitive. If irritation occurs, consult a dermatologist.
In a clinical report:
- 100% showed significant clinical reduction in skin irritation
- 97% agreed that their skin looks more balanced**
- 94% felt that the product reduced the look of imperfections without over drying their skin**
(*Based on a 2-week clinical study of 32 women, ages 19-40, twice daily use. **Based on a 6-week consumer use study of 31 women, ages 19-40, twice daily use)
- Apply to cleansed face, morning and night. Can be used on the body to help clarify and reduce the appearance of blemishes on the back. Apply over Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer to help boost hydration and calm the look of redness.
After using this on my skin when it acted oily, I can safely say that this oil sinks into skin immediately and doesn't leave a slick residue on the skin at all. The tea tree oil helps to break up the sebum that is produced by the hair follicles (pores) and keeps it from congesting the pores. It also helps to keep the dead skin cells from lining the hair follicles and helps to keep them out of the pores and flushed out of your skin. This way skin doesn't get inflamed with any blemishes and is kept clear of any eruptions.
Until Next Time~
