One of the biggest trends leftover from summer is gel-cream blush. It is a huge trend with all of the makeup brands having one in their arsenal of shades. Maybelline came out with their own version called Cheek Heat. This is a beautiful gel-cream blush that adds a perfect flush of color to the cheeks. Get a rush of color with this lightweight gel-cream blush that instantly creates a fresh and luminous sheer cheek flush.

Maybelline Cheek Heat is a water-based gel cream blush infused with colorful pigments that create a buildable, natural looking blush. Available in six natural looking blush shades! Warm up your cheeks with Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush! Get a natural looking blush color and cheek tint instantly with this oil-free, water-based liquid blush formula that glides onto the skin leaving behind a soft, dewy finish. It’s infused with soft colorful pigments for a buildable blush that you can tone up or down for a natural flushed look. Simply layer this easy to use blush for the face blush look you love. The colors are: Rose Flush, Pink Scorch, Nude Burn, Fucshia Spark, Coral Ember and Berry Flame. I tried out Berry Flame.

A little goes a long way. Apply with fingers, squeeze 1 – 2 dots onto fingers, tap onto the apples of your cheeks, then blend smoothly into skin.

The color I tried Coral Ember, is a bright coral shade that would look good on warm and neutral skin tones. Especially darker shades of skin. I would love to see this shade on women of color. On me it is a little bright, similar to NARS Orgasm blush. Nude Burn would be another color I would like as would be Rose Flush.  This is a shade that only needs a couple of dots of color to be seen. Take a couple of dots of color and then press onto the skin and blend. Make sure to blend smoothly and you want the color to show through. If you are wearing a liquid foundation this would go over that but under a powder foundation.

Here is a photo of me wearing the shade Coral Ember:
