Autumn is the time of year when our skin needs a reboot. Not only do we as a people start to feel sluggish, but our skin starts to feel sluggish too. One thing you can do is to actually give yourself a nice resurfacing mask that makes you look a few years younger, and helps to make your skin look brighter and more radiant. I have just the mask too! Try Versed's Doctor's Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask.
Why is it so good you ask? This pro-grade mask gives you results that you don't need an appointment for, in just a few minutes. It features AHAs, BHAs and fruit enzymes. All of which tackle hyperpigmentation and help boost cell turnover for brighter, smoother more rejuvenated looking skin. Glycolic and lactic acids dissolve dull, dead skin and help fade dark spots. Salicylic acid minimizes the appearance of pores and redness. The instant glow comes from the Vitamin C-rich pineapple and papaya enzymes, which gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells that trap acne causing bacteria and sebum. All of this occurs while moisturizing and softening skin. No tingling, no burning, just a post facial glow in no time, with results that build-up week after week.
To use: apply a thin, even layer to clean, dry skin and rinse with cool water after 2-3 minutes. Do not leave on for more than 3 minutes and avoid using other acid based products and retinoids for 24 hours before and after each use. Use on the entire face and and neck area, avoiding eyes. Use only once a week, ideally at night, after cleansing (and toning) but before moisturizing). You will see full results in about 4 uses, and will see results with continued use. The skin will may appear slightly pink after use. This is normal, and should subside after use. If your skin is sensitive, this mask may not be right for you. Start with a patch test of 60-90 seconds and wait to see if your skin reacts and tolerates the product. If it does, try the Shortcut Overnight Facial Peel instead, which is a gentler option. Use up within 6 months of opening or keep unopened within 2 years.
I use Retin-A and love this mask. It really is a great mask for those of use who are accustomed to using retinoids. I like a strong product and this fits the bill. It contains a host of great ingredients: glycerin (hydrating humectant), glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, papaya enzyme, pineapple enzyme, lactobacillus ferment extract, turmeric root extract, lactobacillus ferment, and many botanical extracts that are too numerous to name here. The acids turn over the dead skin cells, lighten hyperpigmentation and get rid of the bacteria and pore-clogging sebum. The ferment extracts help to re-balance the microbiome of the skin. Turmeric extract actually helps to lighten hyperpigmentation.
Even if you don't use retinoids or anything on your skin, this is a great mask. It will help turnover dead skin cells and to actually get rid of pore clogging sebum. And is also helps to rebalance out your natural moisture barrier and the microbiome of your skin. Skin will glow afterwards. Use once a week for a month to see best results. Then continue to use to maintain skin.
