CeraVe makes some extraordinary skincare. I have been using it on and off now for years and I am very excited about the latest addition to their cleansing line. It is a creamy foaming cleanser made for dry skin types. Honestly, I do believe that most people prefer a foaming cleanser to a non-foaming one because they enjoy the clean feeling it leaves behind. I know I do. This one is perfect because it doesn't leave your face feeling tight and stripped afterwards like others foaming cleansers do.

The CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser is made with glycerin, 3 essential ceramides, amino acids and hyaluronic acid to help keep up and repair the skin's natural moisture barrier (NMB). If that becomes compromised then all bets are off regarding skincare. Your skin will become dehydrated and look and feel miserable. It's probably a good thing that it's being guarded. It has an amino acid based surfactant (what actually breaks down makeup and cleanses the skin), that transforms from a cream to a mild foaming agent. MVE Technology is a patented delivery system that continually releases moisturizing ingredients over time. Amino acids help to support the skin's own Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF), which are known to attract and retain moisture. In a consumer study 100% of women* agree that this cleanser instantly removes dirt, oil, pollution and facial makeup. More than 98% of women* find that their skin was clean, smooth, soft refreshed and felt healthy without being stripped. (*Consumer study)

I like this cleanser because it is a nice creamy one that has a thick, rich, creamy lather. It has been designed to remove dirt, oil, pollution, sunscreen and makeup. It is made for dry skin but would work great for normal to combination skin too. Developed with dermatologists, this cleanser starts out as a nice cream that helps to remove makeup and then transforms when you add water. Use it on bare skin in the am to cleanse away the night's regeneration or late the at the end of the day when cleansing your face of makeup. Just add water to turn into a lathery from a nice light cream. The best part is it doesn't disturb your skin, leaving the natural moisture barrier nice and intact. This cleanser is surprisingly effective at removing dirt and makeup from the skin. And it comes in a huge bottle that should last you forever, or at least more than a few months. Just liberally apply to damp skin or apply then dampen skin and work into a creamy lather. When finished, rinse off with warm water and dry face. You will find that your skin feels great, soft and supple. Skin will not feel dry or tight as with gel cleansers because there aren't any harsh surfactants in this cleanser. This product is suitable for normal to dry skin. It is non-comedogenic, will not cause the skin to breakout. It is fragrance-free, allergy-tested and pH balanced. The cleanser has been developed with dermatologists.

The ingredients that are in this cleanser that are good for the skin:
  • glycerin: a wonderful humectant that helps to bring moisture to the skin.
  • ceramides: found naturally in the skin, these natural lipids help retain the natural moisture barrier function of the skin.
  • salicylic acid: a natural exfoliant that also has antibacterial properties.
  • arginine: helps to protect against free radicals and supports hydration.
  • sodium hyaluronate: a form of hyaluronic acid, this ingredient acts to add & retain moisture to the skin.
  • hydroxethyl urea: helps to exfoliate dead skin cells and promotes skin hydration.
  • citric acid: promotes exfoliation and cell turnover.
For myself, I find this cleanser to be very refreshing to the skin and it takes off all of my makeup. The best part is it leaves my skin feeling soft without being stripped of all moisture. I happen to have very dry skin, especially during the winter and this cleanser leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated without my natural moisture barrier being compromised. I would recommend this for anyone with normal, dry or mature skin.
