If you have ever experienced eczema or dryness/dehydration due to a problem with your natural moisture barrier, then you will want to have this cream on hand. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream happens to be one of the most soothing and comforting creams I have ever used. It was not until recently that I was experiencing problems with my natural moisture barrier. I just developed eczema on my neck in the past couple of years and my skin started to turn very dry due to menopause, from its usual combination state. I had heard great things about this cream so I thought I would give it a shot.
The ultra-light whipped texture of this cream makes it a great choice for those of us with dry, dehydrated, sensitive and mature skins. It gets instantly absorbed without any greasy feel on the skin. This cream give long-term hydration for dry, distressed skin, especially those with eczema (as it contains the perennial favorite, Colloidal Oatmeal, which is very soothing to those with eczema). It can be used by all members of the family, from babies to adults. Listed as suitable for all skin types, but if you have active acne I would avoid using it on your face if you know you breakout easily. This cream is particularly good for replenishing the natural moisture barrier, especially those with dry, flaky skin. It helps after only one use. Formulated not only with Colloidal Oatmeal but also with Shea Butter, Ceramide-3 and the FAB Antioxidant Booster. It provides immediate relief and visible improvement to parched, dry skin and it has been clinically proven to increase hydration by 169% immediately upon application. This clean formulation has been allergy tested and is safe for sensitive skin. It is fragrance-free, alcohol-free, free of artificial colorants, lanolin-free, mineral-oil free, paraben-free, petrolatum-free, phthalate-free, free of propylene glycol, sulfate-free, talc-free, formaldehyde-free, ethanol-free, ethyl alcohol free, triclocarbon and denatured alcohol free. This is also listed as being free of coal tar, oxybenzone, and hydroquinone. However, those last few ingredients wouldn't be in this anyway.
The following ingredients in Ultra Repair Cream are what set it apart from other creams that moisturize the skin but don't repair the moisture barrier:
- Colloidal Oatmeal: has been designated by the FDA as a skin protectant to relieve itching and minor skin irritations caused by eczema, rashes and other skin irritations.
- Shea Butter: an emollient rich in Vitamins, fatty acids and minerals. It helps to moisturize and protect the skin barrier.
- Allantoin: helps to calm and soothe skin.
- FAB Antioxdant Booster: helps to stave off environmental aggressors with Licorice Root, Feverfew and White Tea Extract.
To use: apply to face and/or body twice daily to help repair and restore dry and uncomfortable skin. Because of the nature of this cream, you should notice some results after one application, but keep using it until skin is completely repaired. In a consumer study 100% reported noticing a lasting improvement in skin dryness and 100% noticed that this cream helped to soothe, moisturize and condition the skin.
After using this cream my dry, dehydrated skin was repaired quite easily. Upon using this, I found this cream to be very soothing on my skin and especially on the face. I had been experiencing some extreme dryness recently and it soaked right into my face without leaving any sort of residue or greasiness. Even though this cream is for skin that is barrier compromised, it is a lightweight and does not leave any greasy residue on the skin at all. You will find that that the skin soaks it right up. And itchiness is relieved almost immediately too, due to the colloidal oatmeal. I found the allantoin particularly soothing.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream retails for $34.00 for the 6 oz./170g. size. It also comes in other sizes.
