Let's face it. Winter isn't coming, it is here. And now that it is here, so is the advent of drier skin. With drier skin comes dehydrated skin. Luckily I have found a great moisturizer that works extremely well to help quell the dryness in my skin. It is Sunday Riley ICE Ceramide Moisturizing Cream. This lightweight but rich moisturizer is fabulous at helping to keep skin hydrated with lasting hydration throughout the night. This cream is a winner of the Men's Health 2020 Grooming Awards.
It is a ceramide-enriched moisturizer that replenishes moisture in the skin and strengthens the natural moisture barrier against environmental stressors responsible for premature aging. Skin looks and stays smooth, balanced and ageless-looking. It contains beetroot and coconut extract to pull hydration into the skin. Ceramides, Vitamin F and pomegranate sterols strengthen the natural moisture barrier, sealing in moisture. Together, skin is glowing, baby-smooth and deeply hydrated. This cream is best for normal to dry skin types. It is sulfate-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, soy-free and phthalate-free.
Ceramides are lipids that are created naturally by the skin and help to form the skin's natural moisture barrier. Without the correct ratio of them, the skin may become dry, itchy, crepey and dehydrated. Vitamin F is a building block of ceramides, it replenishes lipid levels and strengthens the natural moisture barrier. Coconut reduces Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) and increases skin moisturization. Beet root extract addresses short and long term causes of dehydration for increased skin smoothness and moisturization. Red algae extract is rich in minerals and locks in hydration and nurtures the skin too. Pomegranate sterols quench the skin with hydration. They contain a high concentration of antioxidants that protect the skin from environmental stressors responsible for premature skin aging.
Although it is recommended to use this twice a day, I don't think this is a good choice in the morning unless you want to use sunscreen over it. It is pretty rich and although it sinks in, it might feel heavy with a SPF30 on top. i usually use this only at night, as the last step of my skincare routine. It works well with Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment or any other treatment you are using.
