Top Beauty Trends Expected to Take 2021 By Storm

After a very difficult 2020, you may be tempted to think that the beauty or cosmetic industry will take a hit this year. However, with market trends continually indicating a booming cosmetics industry, we can only expect new beauty trends to hit various beauty platforms throughout 2021. From sophisticated hygiene products to multicultural beauty solutions and beauty tips, cosmetic product consumers can look forward to new and exciting developments. So, what are the top beauty trends that we can expect this year? Let’s take a look at some suggestions.

  1. Focus on hygiene

You can expect an elevation of hygiene-focused beauty products in 2021, especially after the lessons learned from the current global pandemic. Sanitizers and hand soaps may not be the most glamorous things that come to mind when you think about beauty products. But, as necessity has now taken the place of luxury, we can expect the same trend to continue, at least for as long as the coronavirus pandemic lasts. Many experts consider most beauty brands to focus more on improved fragrances and skin-suitable (or hydrating) formulations.

  1. “Skinimalism”

“Skinimalism” is increasingly becoming the latest buzz in the beauty industry, and for a good reason. The term, popularized by Pinterest, focuses on embracing your natural skin and relying on minimal makeup. As more and more beauty enthusiasts begin to buy into this new trend, you can expect it to blow up this year. So, if you’re not a fan of hiding your face behind thick layers of heavy makeup, this is the year to be excited. And if you’re not used to minimal makeup, now is the time to start considering the idea. Plus, limiting your makeup application gives your skin more time to ‘breathe.’

  1. Greener products and packaging

Another subject that dominated the previous year has to do with going green, and this year is not expected to be any different. Making beauty products more eco-friendly remains an essential part of their production this year, with more focus also going into the packaging of such products. So, as more and more brands pledge to transition to sustainable packaging, don’t be surprised to find products proudly informing buyers that their packaging is recyclable.

  1. Smarter tech gadgets

Being stuck at home for most of 2020 forced people to look for more DIY beauty solutions. And if that offers any direction, 2021 should see the results of a greater partnership between the beauty and tech industries to produce smarter tech gadgets for DIY projects at home. We have already seen an increase in demand for slimming and contouring gadgets in certain parts of the world. We can only expect the same that offers beauty solutions similar to those we receive in spas.

  1. Embracing natural hair

People should have less reason to feel embarrassed or insecure about their natural hair. Whether you have thick, curly, short, or long hair, we should see the campaign to embrace natural hair grow stronger this year. That means hairstylists will take their braiding game to another level, with style mavens trying out colorful highlights.

Until Next Time~
