Garnier has a new line out with three different serum/creams designed to be used in place of a serum, moisturizer and a SPF together in your regimen. They are called Serum Creams and the one I am reviewing here is Garnier Green Labs Canna-B Pore Perfecting Serum Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF30. I like it because it is a serum, cream and a sunscreen. This replaces three products in one. How nice is that? Garnier Green Labs is a new line from Garnier that creates clean, effective skincare through the best of nature and science. Formulated without animal derived ingredients (meaning it is indeed, vegan), parabens, mineral oils or dyes. And it has planet-friendly packaging from start to finish. Garnier products are officially certified by Cruelty Free International. This product is also fragrance-free.
Canna-B Pore Perfecting Cream SPF30 is ideal for combination to oily skin. It provides 24 hour moisture, a serum and a sunscreen all in one product. The formula contains Cannabis Sativa Oil and Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) which work to help improve combination/oily skin and enlarged pores for skin that is balanced with reduced looking pores. When using this product, skin instantly looks less oily and skin texture is improved within 3 days. Imperfections look reduced in 1 week. The non-comedogenic formula moisturizer is suitable for all skin types and skin tones. It is lightweight, fast absorbing and provides 24-hour hydration while not leaving a white residue on the skin. This fragrance-free moisturizer is allergy tested, dermatologist tested for safety and suitable for sensitive skin too. The broad spectrum SPF30 is chemically based and comes from the following: Avobenzone 3%, Homosalate 5%, Octisalate 5% and Octocrylene 7.2%. Because it is broad spectrum it protects against UVA & UVB rays. Other ingredients in this thick, white cream include, Glycerin, which is what gives this product its ability to provide 24 hours of moisture. Also included is Tocopherol (Vitamin E), a skin smoothing and softening ingredient that also acts as a strong antioxidant. Capryloyl Salicylic Acid helps to act as a corneolytic, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and has anti-comedonic activities. This means that it exfoliates the skin, acts to soothe redness/irritation. kills germs and gets rid of blackheads.
To use: in just one step, this serum replaces your daily moisturizer, serum and broad spectrum SPF. Apply in the AM, all over face and neck. Works wonderfully as a primer for face and makeup.
I used this product for about a month, testing it out with the other two Garnier Green Lab SPF30 products (https://bit.ly/3d4JOcf, https://bit.ly/3qHejtR). I like this one as much as the other two, even though the Canna-B Pore Perfecting Serum works quite differently than the others. What I like most about this product is how well it slathers on, sinks into the skin almost immediately and leaves a matte/satin finish as a foundation primer. Although it says that it works for all skin types, it is indeed best for combination/oily skins. First of all, because it is has Niacinamide in it, this product works very well on skin that is combination/oily. Niacinamide helps to regulate sebum production. Cannabis Sativa OIl works to help make the pores appear smaller (as does the Niacinamide too). Glycerin provides all of the moisture for the serum, and does enough of a job that even someone with skin as dry as mine could wear this product and still perceive as if my skin felt moisturized throughout the day. The chemical sunscreen wears for about 2 hours but would need to be reapplied after that length of time, no matter what skin tone you have. Sunscreen helps prevent premature aging and skin cancer (90% of aging skin is due to sun exposure. Skin cancer is partially genetic and partially due to sun exposure. In my case, it was sun exposure, i have had 2 cases of skin cancer prior to the age of 50). All in all this makes a very nice addition to my spring and summer sunscreen/moisturizer/serum regimen. Mainly because my skin has changed into a more normal skin type instead of being so dry as it is during the winter. Now I can actually wear a product like this and it doesn't feel dry on my skin. It hydrates enough, with Glycerin as the second ingredient. And It has Dimethicone in it to help the serum/cream/SPF30 glide on smoothly. It is a great product for the price.
