Review: DERMA E Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum
(product photo courtesy of www.dermae.com)
2 fl.oz./60mL $22.50
DERMA E is one of the rare skin care lines that I use that has been proven clean, is cruelty-free, vegan, recyclable, gluten-free, soy-free, has wind energy certificates and is GMO-free. It is a line I like to use because they have so many items dedicated to many different skincare concerns, such as acne, aging, itchy & flaky skin, discoloration & scarring, dehydration & dryness and hair & dandruff. Their skincare is complete. They now have products concerned with blue light, which is a concern, especially if you work around computers or a phone many hours a day.
Blue light can be very draining on the skin, causing dullness, discoloration, uneven skin tone, dehydration, dryness and fine lines and wrinkles. Essentially the same things that photoaging causes. DERMA E has done something about this and created two new products to help defend your skin against blue light. First there is their new serum, DERMA E Blue Light Shield Concentrated Serum and DERMA E Blue Light Shield Spray. This concentrated mineral-rich serum delivers skin-boosting moisture to defend the skin against environmental aggressors while neutralizing the look of photoaging. It revives skin's appearance because it is rich in antioxidants, softens and deeply moisturizes skin while antioxidant-rich Blue Green Algae Extract, softens and deeply moisturizes skin, helps to purify and Ginseng Root re-energizes a shield from blue light. Powerful Activated Charcoal helps purify skin, while Ginseng Root re-energizes and brightens. Lutein is an antioxidant that helps to protect skin from excessive blue light exposure while supporting healthy hydration. Give yourself a digital detox. With this you can definitely give yourself beautiful looking skin!
I like this serum because it is one of the first to address blue light photo aging, which is a newer aging problem that we have to deal with. Now that we use computers and smartphones a lot our faces are in front of screens all the time instead of being out in the sun. That does not mean I am saying lay off the SPF. You still need a SPF30, worn every day on the face, underneath your foundation or instead of foundation. That sunscreen needs to be broad spectrum too. However, this serum can be worn underneath that SPF during the day (and night) to help with photoaging. This serum is light and sinks right into the skin. You should notice results after about 3-4 weeks of use. The results you should notice is that your skin should appear brighter, discoloration (hyperpigmentation) should appear decreased, fine lines and wrinkles should appear lighter, dryness should decrease and skin should look and feel better all around. I noticed my skin looking better after about 3 weeks of use, my skin was not as dull. I don't have any fine lines or wrinkles, but I do have discolorations and they appear lighter too. I would recommend this serum for any skin type and that includes acneic skin because it is so light that even acneic skin can benefit from it.
