Underrated Ways To Boost Your Appearance
It pays to look your best. And we mean that literally. Studies have shown that more attractive people earn more money than anyone else (though if you’re too attractive, then you earn less). But looking your best has value beyond the amount of money you’ll be paid each month. It gives us confidence, we feel good, we’re more outgoing, and so on. While no one’s going to pretend that appearances are everything, we all know that they mean something, even if it’s just to us at an individual level. While you can’t change your genetic makeup, you can subtly guide your appearance in the right direction. In this blog, we’ll take a look at some of the most effective methods.
Avoid All Toxins
There are toxins everywhere. The most common ones that we consume are caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco. For most people, the idea of having a few coffees, and especially having a few alcoholic drinks, is no big deal. However, while those things won’t drag down your appearance to a significant degree, they will drag it down somewhat. Take a break, and you’ll see that you have more energy (which is good for going to the gym) and that your skin looks better, particularly under your eyes (we all know how big our panda eyes can be after a night out!).
Take a Cold Shower
Another good way to enhance your appearance, and in fact enhance your life in general, is to look at taking cold showers. Yes, it can sound pretty brutal, and in many ways, it is -- but only for the two minutes that you’re in the shower. Once you’re out, you’ll be buzzing with energy. And once you’ve been doing it for a few weeks, you’ll notice that your skin and hair are looking better than they have in ages.
Learn About Beauty Products
There’s no shortage of beauty products out there. But, as with all things, there’s a big disparity in quality. And in any case, not all types of beauty products will be appropriate for your needs. Rather than just buying what you think you need, conduct some research, and learn about which products will be right for you. There can be a lot of value in knowing about emulsion vs serum, for example. Once you’ve got the correct products in your cabinet, you’ll be on your way towards looking your best.
Stand Up Straight
Sometimes, it’s the small things that make a massive difference. Think about standing up straight, for example. This doesn’t sound like something that would make a big difference to how you look, but it does. Standing up tall, and having good posture, is a sign of confidence -- and is there anything more attractive than confidence? If you have bad posture, then look up taking up yoga or working on your core strength. It’s easy to fall into bad posture when you work at a computer all day long, but happily, it’s something that you can get out of relatively easily, too.
