Review: Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser Dark Circle Concealer

Just recently I did what some would consider a glowing review of the Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup. I ADORE this foundation so much that I had to try the concealer. The concealer is $40.00 for 0.5 fl. oz./15 ml and is available on the Giorgio Armani website (http://www.giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com/Maestro-Eraser-Concealer/A301,default,pd.html?dwvar_A301_color=2&cgid=concealer) and at their various doors.

It comes in 6 shades. I don’t know how their shade system works, but I am extremely fair and I am shade number 2. I expected a lot from this concealer, considering 1) it is $40 and 2) the Maestro Fusion foundation is my Holy Grail of foundations. My dark circles aren’t really all that bad to begin with, they are fairly mild. Dark circles are due to: genetics, allergies, a lack of sleep, sun exposure and aging. Supposedly this product combines skincare and makeup to make an illuminating concealer with a fine texture. It is supposed to instantly brighten the eye area, gradually fade away dark circles, and it also moisturizes the eyelids to enhance eyes and the radiance of the face. Giorgio Armani claims that after 2 months dark circles are visibly reduced (conducted on 22 women with dark circles).

They usually develop in adults. The concealer comes out kind of watery, not too thick. Just a little is needed to use under the eyes. I applied with my fingers and patted it around the lower eyelid area. It did conceal the dark circles I had, but, as mentioned, mine are not that dark. I feel that if I had circles that were much darker, I would have had to use much more product and that kind of defeats the purpose I think.

This product is not an inexpensive one, so if you have very dark undereye circles, it is not likely this is the one that will work for you. Even though the company claims that it does help to lighten undereye circles, if you have to use a lot of product to begin with, it becomes an expensive endeavor. It might be something you can try one time and if it works for you, then it can become part of your routine. Just remember that at $40.00 it had better work really well! Currently I am still using the foundation and loving it. I still recommend it!

  1. I think because I am so light and my dark circles aren't much of a problem it is okay. I would love to test it out on someone who has a real problem though.
