Review: Nad’s Waxing Kits for Face, Bikini and Body #Nad’s

When I first saw the commercial for the Nad’s brand years ago on television in 1992, I must say that I was intrigued. A natural hair removal product that would actually work? Well, let’s say that is worth its weight in gold. Sue Ismiel developed Nads’s for her daughter’s super sensitive skin. Hair removal is a serious business to women. And many men. It can be embarrassing for many of us and we want products that work. I have used wax strips before and reviewed them from another brand. I liked how well they worked. Does the Nad’s brand live up to that standard? Let’s see…

These strips make it every easy to remove facial hair. There is no heating required. First make sure skin is dry, clean and free of any oils. Just rub the strips between the hand for around a minute to kind of melt the wax, separate the strips, apply them to the area that needs the work, using pressure to make sure the wax adheres to the hair (in the direction of hair growth) Then hold the strip with one hand while the other takes the skin and holds it taut. Pull the strip parallel to the skin and rip it back quickly. Remove any residue and calm the skin with the enclosed Calming Wipes. The Facial Wax Strips are made with beeswax, which is a great all natural way to remove unwanted hair. The kit contains 20 strips and 4 calming wipes. Hair needs to be between 2-5 mm long for the best results.

These strips actually do work. They remove a good amount of hair, even fine hair. I found that I did have to go back and do a second attempt to get any remaining hairs. My lip hair has a few very dark, coarse hairs and it did get those but some of the finer hairs needed the second attempt to be removed. All in all, I was happy with the way it worked. As long as it gets the hair off, I am happy. I love that it includes azulene wipes to get the skin clean and to calm it down. That is very important, as sometimes skin becomes very red and irritated after waxing. Azulene comes from chamomile and is a great soothing agent that is perfect for after waxing.

Nad’s Body Wax Strips $7.99

The Body Wax Strips are also made with natural beeswax, allowing for a natural hair removal method that can remove unwanted hair anytime is just a few minutes. They use a soft contour weave technology which is more flexible to conform better to the body’s curves. The strips are designed to work better at removing hair from tricky, hard to reach areas. The strips are tested by dermatologists. What is so great is that they remove even short, fine hairs. These strips are perfect for legs, arms, underarms and even the bikini area. The kit contains 24 strips and 4 calming wipes.

I used the strips on my legs. I have fine, light hairs on my legs. I thought that they would not come off because the hairs on my legs tend to be tricky. Luckily, I was mistaken. Not only did they come off, they come off with one swipe of the strip. I did not have to go over the area again. Using the strips are pretty easy. It is the same as with the facial strips: start by warming them up by rubbing them between your hands. Then apply the strips to the direction of the hair growth and apply pressure to the strips. This gets the hairs embedded in the wax. Then when you are ready to take them off, with one hand make the skin taut and with the other pull the strip up parallel to the skin very quickly. Reapply if necessary. Use a calming wipe to remove residue and calm the skin. For best results hair needs to be between 2-5 mm long. For bikini and underarms, cut the strip to the desired size or try the kit designed for Bikini and Underarms

Nad’s Brazilian and Bikini Wax $11.99

The Brazilian & Bikini Wax Kit is a hard wax formula that has been designed specifically for the sensitive area that has extremely coarse hair, like the bikini. Since a visit to the salon for a bikini wax can be very costly and a little bit embarrassing for some women, the Nad’s Brazilian & Bikini Wax Kit is the perfect way to get a perfect bikini wax. It has a mango and peach scent that gives smooth results that last for weeks, while shaving lasts only for days. The kit comes with a tub of hard wax that you melt in the microwave, applicators, templates in various shapes to give you the look you want and post-waxing calming wipes to help calm skin after waxing.

The directions are easy: make sure the bikini area is clean and dry. Trim the hair to be waxed to make sure it is not too long. Go online to www.nads.com to view the demonstration video if you are unsure of the directions and need a good idea of how to proceed. Microwave the wax for several seconds until it is like thick honey. Do it 10 seconds at a time. When it is the right consistency, stir it with the applicator. Check the temperature on the inside of the wrist to make sure it is not too hot. If using a template, apply by removing the backing and place it firmly onto the area where you will be waxing. With one hand hold the template in place and apply wax in direction of hair growth. Leave a small amount of wax at the end at the end so that it will be easier to remove. When wax has hardens, grab the area left with one hand and hold onto the skin with the other. With a quick motion, pull off parallel to skin and immediately afterwards apply pressure to the skin to stop pain. Then apply calming wipe to clean skin and calm any remaining pain, Do not reuse any wax. Do not leave spatula in wax. Each tub can do 2-3 bikini waxes.

For a home kit, the directions are easy to follow and the wax is very good. I found it easy to use. I decided not to do any shapes, just did a regular bikini wax. I think this is a great way to do a home bikini wax if you are not of the faint of heart. It does hurt, as you are pulling hair from the roots. But, if you don’t mind that, then there should not be any problems. The kit comes with everything you need to do a successful bikini wax and it is a great price. I think the templates are cute and are definitely something that most women would love to do.
Nad’s also has many other hair removal products: Nad’s Dry Skin Hair Removal Crème, Nad’s Facial Hair Removal Crème, Nad’s Sensitive Skin Hair Removal Strips and Nad’s Natural Warm Wax, to name a few. Today Nad’s is at the forefront of the hair removal business. I am very happy with the products that I tried out. Nad’s is available from all major retailers including Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Target, CVS, Harmon’s and Ulta.
