The easiest way to apply the foundation is with a foundation sponge or with fingertips. I use my beautyblender. Definitely use over the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer. Place a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand and pickup formula with the narrow end of a dampened Laura’s Foundation Sponge or a beautyblender. Using the narrow end of the sponge, apply foundation to the face working on one area at a time. Laura Mercier recommends starting at the outer portion of the face and working inwards towards the nose. Avoid excess application around the contours of the face. Blend well with the wide end of the sponge. Repeat application until desired coverage is achieved.
I love that there is great coverage with this foundation. It is sheer to medium but it really does have more of a medium buildable coverage. And the foundation glows on the skin like candlelight. It looks amazing. This is one of my favorite foundations of all time. I tried Vanille (Fair to Light Neutral Undertones) and Shell (Fair with Cool Undertones). Shell looks pretty good on my very light skin, without any problems of the shade being too dark. Vanille was just a little too yellow for me. Shell was better suited for my complexion. This foundation wears well in normal conditions (low heat, low humidity). It lasts all day long. It applies well, blends well into the skin, so that you cannot even see it, it looks like you are not even wearing foundation. This foundation does not leave the skin looking too "glowy" either. It leaves the skin looking ethereal, which is why I like it so much. The skin glow but does not look too shiny.
