If you have read any of my reviews, you will know that I consider myself to be something of a foundation expert. I am because I have literally tried hundreds of foundations trying to find the lightest ones, because I have very fair skin and it used to be that companies never made foundations for skin as light as mine. Well now there are many more options available. I also like certain kinds of foundations more than others.
Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation is the new addition to the Fit Me! line. The original is the matte poreless foundation which happens to be an excellent foundation. The great thing about this foundation is that it is a medium to full coverage foundation that is buildable and provides skin with a smoothing concentrate that hydrates rough patches leaving skin with a naturally luminous finish. It is ideal for normal to dry skins and protects with a SPF 15, so make sure to wear at least a SPF 30 underneath. The SPF 18 comes from octinoxate 7%. This is a chemical sunscreen and should not be used for those that are allergic to chemical sunscreens. The foundation comes in 24 shades ranging from 110 Porcelain, my shade to 375 Java. There are a good number of shades ranging in the light, medium and dark complexions. For a mass market foundation, 24 shades is pretty good. I like the fact that it comes in a very light shade but I think they could add some more darker shades to the range. This foundation has been dermatologist tested, allergy tested, is non-comedogenic (will not cause acne) and is fragrance-free. To use: apply foundation onto skin and blend with a foundation brush or sponge applicator made for foundations.

The reason I love this foundation so much is because it provides such a nice finish to the skin yet also provides great coverage. I like a fuller coverage foundation. If you are going to put on the trouble of using foundation, I want coverage. I do not want to use something that is only going to provide some little to no coverage. Why bother using foundation at all then? My skin is in pretty good condition, I want to cover up some redness and all of my sun damage. My freckles. That is why I like a fuller coverage. This foundation provides that and adds a luminous finish. It is not a long-wearing foundation but once set with powder does last a decent amount of time with the help of a foundation primer.
