Foundation is the item in your makeup routine that usually has to be the most expensive because it has to match your skin. However, it doesn't have to be the most expensive item in your kit. There are good foundations that are out there for around $20.00 that do a great job. One that I can think of is SEPHORA COLLECTION Matte Perfection Full Coverage Foundation. This foundation, like most that have come out recently is full coverage, long wearing and has a matte finish. That is what is very popular right now. It is lightweight, smooth and doesn't settle and look or feel like a mask made of foundation. It is also waterproof and smudge-proof. In the summer heat that is essential. It comes in 22 shades. I wear the lightest shade, 04 Light Porcelain.
As you can see from above, this foundation is extremely pigmented since it is full coverage. You only need a small amount of it to cover your entire face. I take a damp beautyblender, apply a few small dots to my face and then blend and stipple like crazy.

I love this foundation because it wears great. I find that I can sweat, get hot and my foundation doesn't budge. It is definitely long-wearing and waterproof. Plus, I vouch that it is smudge-proof too. I can also vouch that this foundation is easy to remove with just a makeup wipe. It comes off easily and doesn't leave any residue.
