tarte cosmetics branched out into skincare a couple of years ago and since they did, they have really hit it out of the park with the items they have come up with. I absolutely adore the skincare products I have tried from tarte. One of the items I tried is Mermaid Skin Hyaluronic H20 Serum. It is a vegan, water-light hydration serum that delivers an instant, super concentrated burst of 12-hour intense moisture to parched, dehydrated skin. The serum is a refreshing water-gel formula that is immediately absorbed into the skin without any greasy or sticky residue. Loaded with complexion quenchers like hyaluronic acid, which is a humectant that holds 1,000 times its own weight in water and Vitamin B5, plus marine plant extracts to help provide powerful antioxidant defense. And of course it is always formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, SLS and gluten. 

This cooling water-gel formula serves as an instant pick-me-up and helps amplify the effects of your daily moisturizer. Layer it under your favorite moisturizer for when you need an added boost of hydration. It is particularly great in the winter months when the cold can make skin very dehydrated. In a clinical study of 34 female subjects ages 22-44, 97% of subjects showed a significant improvement in skin moisture 12 hours after application. 

In a consumer perception evaluation study immediately:

How to use Mermaid Skin: apply a generous amount to face and neck as often as you would like for instant hydration. For oily skin types, use it alone or layer under a light moisturizer. For all other skin types, including normal skin, combination and dry skins, use under your favorite moisturizer for best results. 

Personally, as a skincare expert, I find this serum to be very well done. It has a high dose of hyaluronic acid in it, which helps add moisture to the skin. That is of course the main goal of the serum. It is very rich is moisture too. Adding this to your skincare regimen for the winter is an excellent idea, because it will prevent skin from becoming dehydrated, especially after exfoliation. I like to use hyaluronic acid all the time, as it is one of the best ways to infuse moisture into the skin's upper layers without adding anything that is comedogenic. This serum is light but very potent and will last a long while because of how much there is. I would highly recommend using it before applying makeup to make foundation go on smoother. At night use it with serums and your night cream to help skin get extra moisture.
