As I have mentioned in previous posts, I like masks. Particularly I like masks that can be worn overnight (usually called sleeping masks) because they have so much more actives in them than regular night creams in them and more than regular masks. One that I happen to like right now for the colder weather is Kiehls Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask

This mask helps indulge your skin overnight with the rich, velvety texture of Kiehls Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask formula, which when smoothed on instantly has a firming effect on the skin. Infused with Hibiscus Seed Extract and sustainably sourced Ginger Leaf, this anti-aging face mask helps smooth and firm skin while visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines over time. It helps to firm skin while you sleep for a smoother appearance. Melts onto skin with an air-whipped, velvety texture. It is formulated with the Hibiscus flower, whose flower is known to close and preserve its nectar overnight. It does say that it is for all skin types but I am going to go on a limb here and say that it will be too rich for acneic skin types.

The mask's main ingredients are Ginger Leaf and Botanical Hibiscus. Ginger Leaf is known to help smooth and firm skin. Kiehls works with local farms in Hoa Binh, Vietnam to sustainably source their Ginger Leaf and improve the lives of the farmers. Did you know that the Ginger Leaf infused into the firming face mask is farmed by women? Kiehls lends support to this community by providing education on sustainable and environmentally friendly farming techniques along with tools and resources to improve their conditions and productivity. The Botanical Hibiscus Flower is known to close at night to preserve its nectar, as mentioned above. Within this formula Hibiscus Seed Extract helps to firm and smooth the skin.

To use: massage onto clean skin at night with an upward motion and feel the formula begin to work instantly. Leave firming mask on overnight. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. In the morning, cleanse skin to remove face mask. It is recommended to use this 5x a week for best results, making this replaceable for most night creams.

I would agree that it can be used 5x a week if you want to and for best results it would be wise to use it at least that much. That is if firming your skin is what you are seeking to do. Remember, each product does something different. This mask firms skin. So if you want to firm your skin, I would advise using this as much as 5x a week. I would recommend it for mature, dry, normal and combination skin types. Oily and acneic skins would not benefit as much because this mask is heavy and kind of greasy on the skin. Companies always say "for all skin types". But they really don't have to live with it on their skin.

Kiehls Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask retails for $54.00 and can be purchased online at www.kiehls.com and anywhere Kiehls is sold.
