Moisture is the key to having a successful complexion. Basically you want to keep the natural moisture barrier intact if you want to keep your skin looking healthy, hydrated and free of fine lines and wrinkles. One way to do this is to slather it with creams that contain a high amount of humectants. No matter what your skin type, humectants draw water into the skin and plump up the skin cells thus making fine lines and wrinkles look reduced, skin looks and feels younger, is softer and the natural moisture barrier stays intact.

I found a gel-cream that does this very well in fact and is not expensive at all. It happens to be a K-Beauty staple sold on Amazon. The cream contains 50% Hyaluronic Acid (HA)! Elizavecca Moisture Hyaluronic Acid Memory Cream is one of the best moisturizers I have ever used for my dry skin. I originally purchased this because I wanted something lighter for my dry skin to adapt to for the spring and summer that wasn't so heavy but still provided a good dose of moisture. And I definitely found it.

This light-blue gelatinous gel-cream is the perfect night cream for anyone with mature, dry, normal and combination skin. As mentioned above, it does contain 50% sodium hyaluronate (one molecular form of HA). This ingredient is a major humectant that penetrates deep into the epidermis (the first layer of the skin) to provide deep moisture that plumps up the skin, reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It also draws moisture into the skin, thus reducing dryness, making skin feel softer, more plump and protecting the natural moisture barrier of the skin. Hyaluronic acid holds 1,000 times its own weight in water and can easily draw moisture from the air to the skin. The gel-cream sinks in almost immediately, without leaving any sort of sticky residue on the skin. Other important ingredients in this moisturizer are: adenosine, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, allantoin, tocoperyl acetate, glycerin and polyglutamic acid. Adenosine is an ingredient used to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles by 'energizing' the skin's surface, resulting in skin that is more youthful looking and smoother. It soothes the skin and supports wound healing too. Basically, it helps collagen production in the skin. Macadamia ternifolia seed oil has a regenerative and smoothing effect on the skin. It is perfect for dry skin because of its high content of oleic and palmitoleic acids, which are similar to human sebum. Allantoin is protective and very soothing to the skin, which is why this product is great for protection of the natural moisture barrier and is good to soothe dry skin. Tocopheryl acetate, known also as Vitamin E, is moisturizing, works as an antioxidant to scavenge free radicals and is very soothing to dry skin too. Glycerin is known as the best of the humectants because it actually penetrates to the dermis (the second layer of skin) and hydrates better than hyaluronic acid. Polyglutamic acid is a peptide that hydrates the skin, holding 5,000 times its own weight in water and penetrates to the deepest layers of the epidermis (basal layer) where it plumps up the skin very well, providing deep moisture and making fine lines & wrinkles look reduced.

To use this gel-cream, apply after serums as the last step in your nighttime ritual. Scoop out a quarter size amount with the provided spatula. Mix it between your fingers to warm up the gel-cream and apply to face for full absorption. This cream will absorb full into the skin and shouldn't leave any residue.

Personally, I think this is going to be my go to for my spring and summer moisturizer. It is a light, airy gel-cream that provides great moisture for the skin without feeling too heavy (which is something I despise in the heat and humidity). My skin definitely changes when the seasons change and now that it is spring I need something lighter for my dry skin but it still needs to supply a good amount of moisture for my dry skin. Sometimes it is hard to fulfill that wish. But I do believe I have found the product I am looking for and found it inexpensively in this product. This is one reason I love K-Beauty products so much. They are great products but the price is not unrealistic. I also like how the fine lines above my eye have decreased while using this product. Not much, but enough that it is worth the money.

Elizavecca Moisture Hyaluronic Acid Memory Cream is available from Amazon for $.940 or Yesstyle for $14.92 in the USA.

Until Next Time~
