Garnier Green Labs Brightening Serum Cream 24h Moisture Pinea-C SPF30

2.4 fl.oz./72mL $21.99

Garnier has a new line out with three different serum creams designed to be used in place of a serum, moisturizer and a SPF together. They are called Serum Creams and the one I chose to review here is called Pinea C (Vitamin c + Pineapple) SPF30. I like it because it is a serum, cream and a sunscreen in one lightweight formula. It replaces three products in one. How nice is that?

With this product you get a moisturizer for 24 hour hydration, a Vitamin C serum for potency & brightening and a broad spectrum SPF30 for sun protection. The formula is creamy yet lightweight, fast absorbing and oil-free. This is however, a brightening formula, with Vitamin C and pineapple that works to improve dull and uneven skin tone. Skin tone appears brighter and more even in one week of use. This product has a light, uplifting pineapple scent, with the fragrance formulated at 0.3% or lower. The broad spectrum SPF30 is a safe and effective sun filter protection in a lightweight texture that blends seamlessly into all skin tones with no white cast. This SPF30 comes from the following chemicals: Avobenzone 2%, Homosalate 5%, Octisalate 5% and Octocrylene 7.2%.

Garnier Green Labs is a new line from Garnier that creates clean, effective skincare through the best of nature and science. Formulated without animal derived ingredients (meaning it is indeed vegan), parabens, mineral oils or dyes. And it has planet-friendly packaging from start to finish. The product comes in a 100% recycled plastic bottle (excluding the pump mechanism). It has been allergy and dermatologist tested for safety and is suitable for sensitive skin. This product is also non-comedogenic, so it is technically good for any skin type as it will not cause acne. Garnier products are officially certified by Cruelty Free International.

Directions for use: this product replaces the need for a serum, daily moisturizer and sunscreen in one product. In the AM gently apply all over face and neck. Once fully absorbed you will be left with a glowing finish on the skin. Know that if you will be out in the sun all day long you will need to reapply every 2 hours as with all sunscreens. It makes a great primer for foundation.

This is a white, lightweight cream with a light pineapple scent. I love this product because it has replaced my Vitamin C serum and daily moisturizer with SPF30 in it everyday. I am currently using a polyglutamic serum underneath, but that is because my skin is very dry and I need the extra moisture. Garnier Green Labs does make a version of this product with Hyaluronic Acid and SPF30, but then I would need to incorporate a Vitamin C serum back into my regimen again. One thing about this product that I do like is how lightweight it is. It literally sinks into the skin when applied and does give off a glow as mentioned. I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and feel this is a nice upgrade to the regular routine of using a a serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. Instead I have only been using the polyglutamic serum and this or just only this this product depending on how dry my skin feels in the morning. It does make a very nice primer base for foundation too. I find that my foundation goes on quite nicely when using this. After just two weeks I noticed some brightening of the skin, my dark spots seem lighter. I expect that they will continue to lighten after more time using this product. The Vitamin C in it is a stable form that works well when mixed with other ingredients. Also, the chemical sunscreens that this contains are pretty harmless. The formula does contain glycerin and sodium hyaluronate; those are excellent humectants that would be similar to the hyaluronic acid formula and deeply moisturize the skin. Which is why I often don't feel the need to wear anything under this product. Pineapple fruit extract and papain are included, these are enzymes that help to renew skin cells. It also contains the antioxidant Vitamin E, which is a great free radical scavenger and moisturizing agent. Phenylethyl resorcinol is another brightening agent that is included in the formula & it also acts as an antioxidant to scavenge free radicals. Capryloyl salicylic acid is a derivative of salicylic acid and stimulates skin renewal. All in all, I am very happy with this product and will keep wearing it and would actually purchase it repeatedly.

Garnier Green Labs Brightening Serum Cream 24h Moisture Pinea-C SPF30 retails for $21.99. It can be purchased on ULTA Beauty, Amazon, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Kroger.
