This time of year, spring and summer, skin is often home to various breakouts. The temperature gets turned up and breakouts tend to resume on skin that is prone to them. And they often happen willy nilly, without rhyme nor reason sometimes. In this case it is usually easier to treat them rather than just try and prevent them since skin is sometimes just the beneficiary of just one or two blemishes. Or, if you do get a few, you want to treat them without causing any infection or issues. In this case, trying out something that dries up breakouts and eliminates redness is ideal. Even if you do try and prevent breakouts, sometimes you can't prevent all of them and it is best to just treat the ones you get.

One treatment product I like is the DERMA E Sulfur Spot Treatment. This concentrated spot treatment rapidly helps to clear blemishes and reduce redness. It helps to fight against blackheads, pustules and cystic acne. The powerful dermatologist recommended concentrated spot treatment clears up blemishes through the use of Salicylic Acid and Colloidal Sulfur, which work to dry up sebum and alleviate acne. Salicylic acid also exfoliates the skin and kills bacteria. Calamine and Aloe Vera soothe and reduce irritation. Skin becomes clear, clean and blemish free with this intense spot treatment. Tea Tree Oil also helps to alleviate acne-causing bacteria. Witch Hazel tones and balances skin. Also in the formula, Kaolin strips excess dead skin cells and sebum from skin and acts as anti-inflammatory, reducing redness from acne lesions. Allantoin (from the Comfrey plant) helps to soothe the skin and reduces redness and irritation. Niacinamide reduces sebum production and acts to reduce post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that occurs after acne lesions. Green Tea Leaf polyphenols are used to help treat inflammation and redness. Tocopherol (Vitamin E) is a powerful antioxidant that also nourishes and conditions the skin. Linoleic Acid (Vitamin F) is a another powerful anti-inflammatory that helps to soothe redness and irritation. All of these ingredients help to soothe and relieve redness in the skin.

To use: Do not shake bottle. Dip a cotton swab into pink sediment at bottom of bottle. Place directly on breakouts. Use overnights and remove in the morning. Can be gradually increased to be used twice daily if needed.

The DERMA E Sulfur Spot Treatment is a wonderful treatment for breakouts. Compared to other treatments that are similar or acne treatments in general, this dries up pustules/cystic acne and eases redness and irritation. Ingredients included in the formula are ideal for anyone who wants something gentle yet effective at helping to ease acne lesions. It is relatively non drying and non-irritating. Salicylic acid is a great ingredient because it helps kill bacteria and is also anti-inflammatory. Colloidal sulfur is an extremely gentle yet effective mixture of sulfur particles that have been ground up and have been suspended into a gum base. It is a homeopathic remedy for acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema. Used to treat acne regularly it prevents infection of the lesion and its surrounding tissues. It may only require one to two treatments of lesion. The other included ingredients are also ideal at helping to prevent redness, relieving redness of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
