If you have ever had a bad scar on your skin, then you know how embarrassing it can be. Especially if it is on your face or an area that is clearly visible to the naked eye. Some people don't mind them, they see them as battle wounds that they earned as part of a war against time. Personally, I have had enough back surgeries and a tumor removal that I don't like to see all of the scars littering my battered body. I wish I had been able to really get a good grip on them at the time of receiving them. Well, now that has changed...

DERMA E has a wonderful Scar Gel that has been clinically proven to work significantly on scar texture, color and overall appearance. The refreshing gel softens, smooths and encourages healthy-looking skin. It moisturizes the skin and improves the appearance of texture sunburns (blistering), chemical burns, industrial burns and scars. The unique oil-free blend of botanical extracts helps to soften, smooth and diminish the appearance of scars, especially those that are lumpy, bumpy or discolored.

In Consumer Results*:
  • 100% saw improvement in skin's color
  • 89% saw improvement in skin's texture
  • 85% saw improvement in scar's texture
  • 73% saw improvement in scar's appearance
(*based on efficacy results from independent 4-week clinical studies on Scar Gel)

Scar Gel is enriched with:
  • Allicin: which comes from the onion bulb, and is antioxidant-rich to help reduce the appearance of scars.
  • Allantoin: deeply conditions the skin and scar to reduce its appearance
  • Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5): a provitamin that helps to moisturize the skin
This clinically proven formula not only helps to improve the appearance of scars but also encourages healthy new skin to grow. It may also help to improve the appearance and texture of sunburns, chemical burns, industrial burns, old scars and stretchmarks as it moisturizes the skin. This clear, refreshing oil-free formula goes on clear and will not stain clothing.

I have been using the DERMA E Scar Gel on my old scars for a couple of weeks now and I see just a slight difference. I don't expect miracles in just a couple of weeks, after all theses are old scars (from about 7-10 years ago). I have one scar from my basal cell carcinoma on my arm that is pretty deep and mangled. I have been using it on this particular scar too. It is only one year old, and I have yet to see any results with it yet, but I am hopeful. This product is best used on new, fresh scars of course. As it works best to create new collagen production in the skin without allowing a scar to actually form. The raised scars are called keloid scars and anything that can cause a scar can cause a keloid. I do think this product would work well on burns, as the Allantoin and Panthenol are extremely soothing to the skin. Apply immediately after a sunburn (either a regular first degree or second degree sunburn) and apply regularly as needed to keep the skin moist and hydrated. This gel also contains Glycerin a humectant, which is a great ingredient that draws moisture to the skin and help keeps it hydrated. I will update you on my progress in a few months.

To use: Scoop a small amount and massage into skin. For new scars massage 2-3 times daily for 8 weeks. For older scars apply 2x daily for 3-6 months.
