Not only am I a hug skincare junkie, but as you probably know, I am a huge makeup junkie as well. Especially foundations. I love a good foundation. Lately I have been on a full coverage foundation kick, mainly because they have been able to cover up the melasma I developed during menopause. Now that I have been able to get that under control though, I am still finding I like a good full coverage foundation for its ability to just offer a wonderful blank canvas for makeup.

One I found that is especially nice and not heavy at all is Revlon Colorstay Full Cover FoundationThis is a 24HR long-wear foundation. It is also offers a beautiful matte finish. What is so great about it is the fact that is is a long-wear foundation with a full coverage and is lightweight unlike other any longwearing foundation I have tried. Most are very heavy because of the need for more pigments in the formula. This one is like a feather. I have a feeling this foundation would work well in the summer too. It is heat and sweat resistant. The formula is mousse like, not liquid or cream like. This formula goes on smoothly and blends seamlessly.

It comes in 16 shades, which is not a lot for a foundation these days. But I was able to find a shade for my ultra-pale skin. I wear Ivory. There are definitely a lot of medium shades and a good number of darker shades too, so I am sure if you have darker skin you could probably fine a shade. So they do run the gamut, but if you are looking for a huge shade range at this point there isn't one. However, Ivory suited me very well. Another thing is with this foundation you really don't need a huge amount to get the full coverage. Just a dime size amount will cover the entire face.

The best way to wear this is to wait after moisturizing (5-10 minutes) and apply with whatever method you choose best (I use a beautyblender). Revlon recommends squeezing two pea size dabs into the palm and applying with their Buffing Foundation Brush. Always start at the center of the face and blend outward.

Below is a swatch of Ivory, the shade I wear. It looks slightly darker on my wrist, also I only used a dab for the swatch:

Here are a few photos of me wearing the foundation:

As you can see it covers really well. My face looks matte, flawless (no hint of all the sun damage/freckling underneath). It literally wears all day long without a hint of coming off. I cannot wait to try this foundation in the summer. It should be great in the heat. If there is one thing I cannot stand it is a heavy foundation in the summer. it also comes in tube for easy portability, which makes it nice for travel too.

I am extremely happy with this foundation. I also tried a couple of their other foundations (PhotoReady Candid Anti-Pollution Foundation and PhotoReady MoistureGlow Candid Anti-Pollution Foundation). I have honestly shied away from Revlon for the past few years but am very happy with what I have tried. I am going to review these too. Also, I tried a few of the their lipsticks and will be reviewing these. Very happy with them. Loving Revlon these days.

Revlon Colorstay Full Cover Foundation retails for $14.49 and is available at mass market retailers.
